Question about Mowtownusa Snow Thrower Starter Switch for Toro S-200 and S-620 units # 29-5560 40-594
I have a Craftsman model 536.887251 snow thrower. After having a problem with the drive I found a tension spring had fallen off. I replaced it but the Friction Wheel is still engaged with the Swing Plate. Only after exerting downward pressure on the Swing Plate with a screw driver can I spin the wheel freely. Everything looks like it is in place and there are no broken parts. Is there any way to adjust the swing plate in order to get the proper clearance for the Friction Drive Wheel? It aligned with the tabs and the cable is adjusted.
Use a good quality silicon lube and spray into the top of the cable. Do this until it comes out the bottom, a little at a time. Also, spray all pivot points. Don't use WD-40, it will freeze. Lube everything at the end of winter and again before winter.
