I have installed the humidifier and am now trying to wire it. The instructions and video are only vaguely helpful. I have the Humidifier, a mechanical Humidistat and a Sail Switch. The installation kit comes with a wire sheath that contains a red and a white wire inside. Connections so far based on the video are as follows:
-Red wire connected to sail switch NORM OPEN, white wire to COMMON
-Those wires to Humidistat, red to black connect wire of Humidistat
-Another wire sheath (red & white) from Humidistat to Humidifier...red wire connected to other black wire of Humidistat and white wire connected to white wire coming out of sail switch (as a common I assume)
There are two yellow wires on humidifier that are supposed to be connected in the loop. Where do I go from here? The diagram shows a loop between the three but doesn't distinguish the connections for the red and white wires. Can't seem to find any support from Honeywell at all.
Maybe I can help. this is 24v so it doestn't matter which wire goes where so here goes. 2 wires from humidistat go to furnace, split one of the wires(not both) so they reach the yellow wires on the humidifier. with marettsconnect one of the split wires to one of the yellow wires. do the same to the other split wire and yellow wire. what you should get is one wire from humidistat to furnace then one wire from humidifier to humidistat and one from humidifier to furnace. hope this helps

I have the same problem but have additonal questions. As I believe I do not need the sail switch at all. I have a 20 yr old Trane xl 90 that has an old AprilAire unti on it. Based on it's wiring there is no sail switch but do not understand how to use exsisting wiring in conjunction with those 2 yellow wires. Let me know what you find out on those yellow wires.
Trying to connect 110 power connection to humidifier transformer to a Crane high efficiency furnace. I tried connecting it to the blower terminals and that seemed to disable the furnace start. I cannot find any terminals or other connections for the transformer. I need help, and I hope you can. The model number listed on the furnace doesn't seem to match any of Cranes listed on the internet. However, the number is: 490AAV048100
