Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-46W3000 Television

Sony Bravia KDL-46Z4500 Captions

I use video 1 as the input option for DVD, VHS and DVD HDD inputs into Sony Bravia KDL-46z4500 .  Caption "Video1" remains on top of screen.  How do I turn this off please?

Try pressing the 'Display' button on top left of TV remote.

Cannot lose close captions from screen even though it has been turned off at the menu. Any suggestions?


Check the caption settings in the menu for your video source, (cable box or satelite reciever), the signal could be originating there.

DVD is wired to the VCR and does not work


The Sony Bravia should have a number of component inputs, so you should be able to hook up the DVD directly to the TV. The only reason for hooking it up through the VCR would be to record a DVD on VHS... but that's for the birds--VHS is old technology.

Each component input on the back of the TV has a number. You then select to view the component you want by pressing the remote control button to change the display (it should show with one you're on... e.g., Video 1, Video 2, Video 3, etc.).

Cannot remove caption


Press the info button once on the HXD890's remote control (button top right on the main circle in the middle). All should then dissappear.

Connecting old DVD player to LCD


Just respect the colors. Green output from the dvd to green input tv, Red output from the dvd to red input tv and the same with blue. All 3 cables (green , red, blue) are for the picture, so you got to plug another 2 for the sound.
