Accidentally erased all pix from cell phone

I was attempting to transfer pix taken on my cell phone to a memory card and accidentally hit the button to erase all pix from the phone before they were transferred. Is there any way to recover the data?? Please help!

Thank you for your suggestion. Doesn't look like the phone came with a USB to hook up to the computer. Any ideas how I can accomplish this?

  • not2tekkie Feb 04, 2009

It doesn't that I'm aware of. It's a pretty basic phone.

  • not2tekkie Feb 04, 2009

No, that's what I was trying to do. I have a new phone and was in the process and taking the pictures off the old phone by transferring them to a memory card. The phone menu changed on me and somehow I accidentally erased the pics from the phone before they were transferred to the card. I was hoping there was some sort of "undo" process built into the phone that I wasn't seeing.

Thanks! The phone is an LG, model VX8100. I looked through the manual but couldn't find anything so if you can, that'd be fantastic!

  • not2tekkie Feb 05, 2009

No, I don't have that cable...it did not come with the phone. I suppose I'll have to buy that separately?

  • not2tekkie Feb 05, 2009

Ok...I will get one and keep you posted on my success. Thanks so much for all your help so far. I hope to report back that I've recovered my pix! :-)

Www.recuva.com it's a freeware program... download and install it... hook up your phone to the computer and see if that program finds the phone... if it does .... recover the deleted files

pretty much any computer store or even walmart will have them... take the phone with you but it should be a mini b connector on one end and a usb on the other. it should allow you to connect your phone to your pc and hopefully recover the pics you are after.

it should work fine but don't panic if it doesn't work with that program... i'm not sure you know this one but do NOT add any more things to your phone including pics till you have attempted to recover what was deleted... it will be overwritten and make the success of recovery more difficult.
and we are basically all volunteers on this site... a fixya rating would be appreciated.. thanks

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Have you tried erasing old pix and text messages? If you check your phones available memory, and you have a lot of pix etc you can get a micro sd card and move your pix and videos to it. You check memory by going into menu, then se1ttings/tools, then phone info , other information usually...Good Luck

All my contacts have gone from my nokia 6500 slide phone. i try to switch to phone or sim but they still arnt there but when i get a text it still comes up with the persons name so they must be there...

Most probably you've accidentally transferred them to Memory Card. If it has taken place, no problem at all.

Just connect your Phone to the Computer and the Memory Card will pop up. Select `Open Folder to View Files' and you may find your Contacts therein the `Contact' Folder.

All you've to do is Move them from the Memory Card to the Phone Memory.

If you still find it complex to do so, please visit any Mobile Merchant or your Nokia Care and they'll do this for you.

No Memory Card

The internal memory is 16MB, anything beyond that will not be on the camera. Should be goods for a few pics. Just connect it to your computer and download them. I hope this is comforting.
