Couple of things you might check. Make sure that the soap dispenser is clean and not gummed up. What kind of cleanser are you using? If you are using the packets that melt upon contact with water, you might check to see if the wraping is sticking to the door. If the washer is loaded in such a way as to prevent a quality size stream of water to get to the dispenser it just may stick. This was happening to mine. I like to make sure the dispenser is dry, and the front of the racks by the dispenser are clear of any large article that would block the stream of water. Also, once I put the detergent in I start the machine. I do not let the detergent packet partially dissolve and then dry onto the dispenser thus preventing it from opening properly.
The diagnostics is not going to help you too much. If there is no error code (combination of flashing lights coming up on control) the diagnostics is going to tell you everything is fine.
There could be a problem with the coil (what releases the dispenser) or with the control.
To check coil:
1) Remove front panel of door (remove all screws except top two on each side)
2) There is a plastic flap over the coil, lift this up.
3) Disconnect the connector to the coil. Place leads of meter in connections. You should get a reading of between 1300-1800 ohms. If you do not get this reading, replace the coil.
4) If you do get this reading, the problem is a communication problem between the control board and the coil.
Hope this helps. Please notify me if it does not.
