My garage door will not open. I pulled on the emergency rope to see if that would help but it did not.

Your torsion spring is probably broken. After you pull on the emergency rope, press the remote, that should move the chain and emergency lock out of the way, then you and 1 or 2 other people may be able to lift the door up if you really need to get the vehicle out. It depends if it is a single or double door or wood or metal, how heavy it will be. This can be dangerous and it could fall down on you. Check your torsion spring above the top of the door when closed, if there are two pieces then it is broken (on a single door.) A double door will have two springs, one on each side. One may be broken. You will need to get all the springs replaced, it counterbalances the door. If you have a garage door with arms on it, then the compression/extension spring is probably broken. If you are mechanically inclined, you can replace them, it is dangerous, be sure to watch a UTUBE video on it.

Door opens about 16" then stops will go down but only opens 16"

Probably a broken torsion spring, if you help lift the door as it is opening, it may open all the way. With the door down and you inside, look at the torsion spring above the door opening on the long rod to left or right of centre. One on each side of centre with a double garage door. If either spring is in two pieces, then you will need to get them replaced or replace them your self.

This could be a broken torsion spring. See link below to see what a broken one looks like.

How do I install new springs for my garage door?

All depends on if it is an extension spring or a torsion spring setup. Either way, I would hire a professional to order the correct spring for your particular door, and for safety. If you really want to tackle this yourself, give me more information, and I can walk you through the procedure.

Liftmaster GDO goes up 1/2 way and stops, springs are fine.

The Liftmaster openers have 4 movement switches, a )opening and b) closing limit and c) opening and d) closing force. First check the door for smooth operation by opening the door by hand (disconnect from the opener with the release cord). Any binding should be felt this way. It is possible for a binding hinge, roller or torsion springs to add too much drag and cause the force switch to shut off the motor. Hinges, roller shafts and torsion springs should be lubricated at least annually with a non oily spray (silicone or teflon spray). Not WD-40 or 3-in-1! A light band of lube should be applied to the torsion spring coils. If the door can be operated smoothly by hand, then adjust the closing force switch 1/4 turn at a time. This is a safety device do not use it to overcome another problem!

Torsion spring is broken for our liftmaster 2265R model garage door opener and i need a new one where do you buy one?

Here are instructions for replacing the spring. You can call any local garage door company and they will sell you the springs. I absolutely don't recommend this job for a DIY'er. It is dangerous.

Have 1/2hp garage door opener that will not open the door. If the remote pad battery is dead will the opener stop working? if I press the remote opener the door move about an inch stops and the light...

Dead batteries will not cause your problem. If it is the main light flashing 10 times when you try to close the door it is a door sensor problem. Make sure the small light on each sensor is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a bit to make sure.

Door openly opens 5-6 in, then stops.

If the door isn't unusually heavy when you open it manually then maybe an adjustment will help. On the back of the motor unit you will find the 'up force' control. Increase it 1/4 turn and try.
