Question about Acer Aspire 3100-1405 Notebook
When you start your computer, you can press a key to get into your bios setup. I can't remember what the key is in an Acer, but it may be the del key or perhaps the F2. In any case, it should tell you at the bottom of the screen which key to press.
Once in the bios, you should go to the advanced settings (if that is an option) and disable the onboard sound. If there is no "advanced" setting, then you will need to look around for that option.
You can always disable the sound in Windows by going into the device manager, find the sound card that is installed, and disable it.
