I saw someone post the pdf for the manual online once but can't find it now. If anyone can help with getting a hold of the manual, I'd be appreciative. Thanx.

National Geographic Men’s Pioneer Series DiveMaster Strap Watch Need instructions for National Geographic NG705GWS - national_geographic_men_s_pioneer_series_divemaster_strap_watchu9gstandard.jpg plus_article.gif Sun, Jan 25 2009, 1:00 AM EST fNeed instructions for National Geographic NG705GWS - dropdown.gif"">Woot dropdown.gif Related: Articles dropdown.gif Topics dropdown.gifShare dropdown.gif Girl WatcherWith its depth and water-temperature readings, this watch is the perfect accessory for hunting buried treasure…or chicks. When it comes to lies I tell to impress women, none of them work better than the old deep-sea diver routine. In one short sentence, I go from “random shlub in unflattering khakis” to “rugged international man of adventure”. And since most people are not deep-sea divers, the chances I’ll get called out are slim. If you’re going to practice this approach to capturing the great white female (no racial preference implied – I’m drawing a Moby **** parallel here, and believe me, I dig all chicks equally), just follow these guidelines. The right lingo. Be sure to drop lots of cryptic talk about “back gas” and “feeding the fish” and “riding the hook” and “the Dry Tortugas.” Memorize this sentence: “It was snotty out there, but I nabbed some legal bugs before I shot a bag for a floating deco.” What does it all mean? It means you’re a hotshot scuba jockey that the other person would like to get to know, that’s what. The right accent. It doesn’t matter which one. If you’re in the States, a French accent will do wonders, thanks to the whole Cousteau thing. If you’re in France, lay on the California surfer brogue. The important thing is, you’re from somewhere else. Women love that. (Developing a stable of convincing accents will also help with some of the other great romantic fakeouts, like “Spy”, “Art-Movie Director”, and “Soccer Star Who Is Huge In Europe, As Far As You Know”.) The right attire. Leave the swim fins and the air tanks at home. No sense in laying it on too thick. But some subtle visual reinforcement of your undersea exploits is definitely called for. I wear the National Geographic Pioneer Series DiveMaster Watch just a few inches from where I had that fake sharkbite scar tattooed on. It’s got all kinds of diving-oriented features on it, including a depth meter, water thermometer, and elapsed time chronograph. More importantly, the dome-shaped face and black-and-yellow band look all dive-y and stuff. Play it right and this watch won’t just help you keep time, it’ll help you make time. So there you go. And oh, yeah, remember that dolphins aren’t actually fish. That one got me in trouble one time. Take this advice and I promise you, you’ll soon be doing the breast-stroke on dry land. This watch needs to be sent back to the factory to get the movement replaced. I am doing this for the second time in 4 years. Citizen Europe states it's a defective design. The watch goes into dive mode with sweat, humidity and washing your hands. The water sensor tells the computer it's gone diving but the pressure sensor isn't telling it the same thing which causes a fault with the computer. I was told to cover the water sensor with WAX by the factory repair facility. WAX on a $400 dive watch. Great. They shold have used the pressure sensor to initiate dive mode. Customer Service said it wasn't defective, so it was designed to need this part everytime the battery has to bre replace.

My watch is in Dive Mode, I am not diving, it will not return to normal time settings. Any thoughts?

I could not find any instructions for your watch but as it is described as a "multifunction" type, there should be a method of changing the function you are using. This is usually changed by pressing the "mode" button. Unfortunately, you watch does not seem to indicate which button this is, so you will need to experment to find out which one it is. It is frequently the one that is at the 8 O'clock position, so try that one first.

I see on the face of the watch are a number of indication labels which tell you which mode you are in. At the moment it should be indicating "dive". To change this press the mode button and the indication should step through the options till you reach the one you want.

My battery is out on my Jaques Leman diving watch. I wanted to repair it myself. I was told if I took the back off I would break the seal. Im attempting to fix it myself

Thank you for contacting FixYa.
If you have a good quality scuba dive watch that needs to be repaired, such as needing a battery replacement, it can be tempting to do it yourself. After all, don't you just need a screwdriver, a battery and rubber gasket (possibly)?
Well, yes. But if you do it yourself, you run the risk of voiding the warranty.
So if you change it yourself and the watch later floods, you are out of luck. So check your warranty information carefully before you attempt to do anything yourself or have someone other than the manufacturer/authorized dealer do the work.
If the manufacturer changes the batteries or does any other dive watch repair, they will normally retest the watch and certify that it is still water resistant to whatever level applies.
This is not to say that a qualified watch repair shop can't do the job. It's your decision but at least it will be an informed one.
So the long and short of dive watch repair - if it's a good dive watch, you'll probably want the manufacturer/authorized dealer to handle it if you don't want to void the warranty. A cheap dive watch? Probably not worth the bother.

Perhaps you have not instructed it to start recording?

I cannot gain access to the instructions for you watch as the site require me to enter the watch number.

If you have not got the instructions, go to "", select "support" , then "manuals", then "watches"; agree terms and conditions; select "archive...".

Enter the number off the back of your watch and download instructions.

How to set time on my National Geographic Dakota Atomic Watch?

For the national geographic radio controled watch.
The easiest way to rest this watch is to remove the battery.
Once replaced the watch will flash set to 12. Push and hold the upper button till the hands spin. Press this button again to stop the hands. Tapping the upper button will make the hands move forword 1 sec. Set all the hands to 12. becareful, if you pass 12 you will have to go around again. to start the hands spinning again press and hold the upper button untill the hands move. Once all the hands are at 12, press the lower button and the screen should flas LON for london. Set the city code using the upper button to your area. press the lower button hard to confirm the information. The watch should set itself to the correct time. If it starts running from 12, place it on the window sill for the night so that it can get a signal.
