Solution to Excessive Cold Water Wait Time With Grundfos Pump

You can install direct return line that cycles hot water directly back through drain valve on water heater, so hot water circulates independently from the cold water line. This system means cold water is available immediately, and also hot water is available immediately, but means installing additional plumbing line, and removing water heater drain valve. Removing plastic drain valve will probably break off and require hammer, big screwdriver, torch, and 7/8" drill to remove broken pieces.

Or use the timer feature instead of thermostat to precisely schedule when hot water will be available, and thereby also schedule when cold water is available.

I have a timer that won't hold the program time set schedule? I have paid an electrician to come out and check to make sure i don't have any shorted out wires?? Electrician didn't find any...

Question posted under 120volt Intermatic Eh10 timer.
I do not have repairs for defective timer.
EH10 has 1 year limited warranty.

Located just below the digital display is compartment for AA battery.
Display is controlled by battery.
Replace battery, press and hold reset button for several seconds to reset timer, and try to program again.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-EH40-hot-water-heater-timer.html#EH10
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/eh10-manual.pdf

EH10 and EH40 timers are susceptible to line noise.
If timer is connected to water heater, there is no line noise. And electrician tested for shorting wires.
But when timer is connected to fan, pump, or other type of load, then interference can be a problem.
Intermatic can provide a filter.

Digital timers, digital water heaters, digital washer and dryer, digital water softener, digital treadmill, etc are increasingly common, yet are not protected from surge.
People protect computers and TVs, but forget other costly items.
EH10 can be affected by surge.
Install whole house surge protection:

I have a Whirlpool top loading washing machine model 3RLSQ8033SW. When set for a cycle it starts to fill with water but just continues to fill. I thought the timer might be faulty, but do you think it...

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven from the flow into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor.

So it seems that the pressure switch is not activated to cut off and hence the program does not move forward. you can check the vacuum control on the diaphragm of the pressure switch.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

The Ace water pump (Less than 2 months old) suddenly quit working. No weird noise or anything. What can be the problem? What can we do to test it?

To test the unit: You need to remove the unit from the power source and measure it with a multimeter (on the OHMS range). If you get an open circuit reading, then either a safety sensor has operated (removing power) or the pump motor is defective.
At 2 months, it should still be under warranty.
