I purchased a used Masterbuilt veranda gas grill. The gas regulator fits a small propane tank. Is it possible to replace the regulator so it will fit a large sized propane tank?

Yes, it can be converted to accept a 20 Lb LP grill tan. Contact Masterbuilt Customer Service
1.800.489.1581 to obtain the new hose/regulator assembly.

Hope this helped you and Happy Grilling!

Grill won't turn on

The new style2_bing.gif OPD valves have a small brass ring located in the female fitting on the LP tank. Over time this ring can work loose and then it does not allow the male fitting to fully depress the OPD valve thus reducing your gas flow
Using a small flat bladed screw driver tighten the small brass ring This should solve your problem
IF not you might want to remove the cap (white) on your regulator and try slowly adjusting the regulator, make small adjustments and try the BBQ My Weber if I set the front and back burners to MED I get right at 350 degrees in 60 degree outdoor temps. Adjusting the regulator will take some time to get it right but If it is not your tank it is most likely your regulator out of adjustment

I have an older Genesis grill with a leaking regulator

You can get a replacement regulator at just about any home improvement store (Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.) There haven't been changes in the size of the ports or thread patterns on regulators or propane tanks in the last 15 years.

Where can I find a (1lb) proprane tank for portable

That should be a screw on type of propane cylinder, which should be readily available at stores like Wal-mart, Sears, Menards, Lowes, Home Depot, Etc.

Gas Flow Problem

Replace the regulator and hose assembly that screws onto the propane bottle. I had the same problem on two patio heaters and my 4 burner grill. You can get regulators and hose at Home Depot, Lowes, Northern, probably Meijers, etc. Check the fitting on the end of the hose for the correct gender, male or female, size, and hose length. You can get a fitting in the plumbing department to change the gender.

I can all but give you money that this will fix it.

When I go to start the barbeque I have to unhook the tank everytime to get the gas to flow from the tank to the grill.

You need a new regulator. These can be purchased and Lowe's, Home Depot, or your local propane supplier. (the ones at your local propane supplier will be of better quality and adjustable.)
