Avr-2802 constantly restarting itself and flickering on and off

Hey guys, ive had a denon avr-2802 for a few years now and i recently i installed a ps3 into the system. About 2 days ago, i noticed something strange happening to the receiver. while i was playing a game, the receiver was turning itself on and off over and over again, it would blink lights and stuff and restart itself many times. i thought that it would pass, but the problem is still continuing. What could be the problem? thanx.

Check all speaker wires from the receiver end and the speaker ends. Just the smallest strand of copper could be touching something it should not be touching. Make sure all copper is in the speaker post and not hanging out. The receiver is getting a short and shutting off to protect it self. This could have happened since you were just plugging things in.

Denon AVR-2802 Optical Issue

If you look at page 16 of the user manual it tells you how to assign the devices to the optical connections. Once this is done it should work.
If you don't have the manual just type "denon avr 2802 manual" into Google and it will show a free PDF file of it. On my search it came up first!

Technical Problem on my Denon AVR 2802

How good are you with electronic repairs...? Do it if only you are confident...

The way you describe you problem it seems more like poor solder connections somewhere on the board. Usually these are at the voltage regulators where there can be some heat. Also, look for any connections that appear to be grasiny or have rings and resolder them too.

Alternatively, suggest that you take it to the Denon service center closest to you.

Best of Luck..
