Needle post stuck

Brother innovis 4000D - was used as a demo machine for about  a year and then stored in a closet - was given to me recently.
I was sewing straight stitch - the needle got stuck in the down position the hand wheel froze, an alarm went off and a safety error message came on the screen - I removed the needle with tweezers as I was unable to raise the needle post.  The machine is still frozen and I cannot find anyway to unlock it out of the safety lock.  I have removed all thread - cleaned around the bobbin area removed and checked the bobbin case. The hand wheel will not turn manually.  Is there any way to unfreeze of is it strictly a tech type problem. My nearest repair place is a 2 hour drive away.

Brother Innovis 4000D - needle post got stuck in the down position while sewing velvet with a straight stitch. I was unable to turn the hand wheel - it locked up. An alarm sounded and safety lock error message came up on the screen. I could not remove the needle and fabric as all was locked up, so I loosened the needle and pulled it out with tweezers. I then removed all thread and bobbin - cleaned out the bobbin case and took it out to make sure. Turned back on and the same thing it will not unlock - I unplugged for two days and went back to it -still locked and the needle post is still stuck down - safety error comes on. The green light comes on but if I push the lift needle button the alarm goes off again, the post shakes and the safety error pops up again.

With no thread in the machine and the bobbin case removed (ensure there are no remnants of thread in, on, or around the bobbin area), turn on the machine. If you get the error screen that deals with tangled thread, press close on the touch screen. if the error screen goes away, lower the pressure foot and press the start/stop button (This will require thread tensions to be reset before using the machine). If this unlocks the machine, all should be fine, if not repeat the procedure once more. if fault still exists take the machine to a authorized repair facility.

I would unplug the machine and let it sit for about 40 minutes so it can "reset" then plug it back in. It should work after that.

Thank you for using Fix Ya!

What memory stick will work on a innovis 4000d brother embroidery machine

Most memory sticks will work, but the smaller capacity sticks work the best.

If your stick has a lot of designs on it, the machine must read all the designs before bringing up any on the screen. Only keep a few on a tick at a time.

Twin needle tension problem

Hi, Tania
Chances are that you're using a universal point twin needle, designed for sewing on woven fabrics. Twin needles also come with a ballpoint which is what you need for knit fabrics
A ballpoint or stretch needle has a rounded tip that will separate the knit fibers as it penetrates the fabric instead of breaking through them. A universal needle may not catch the bobbin thread on both needles when used on knit fabrics; this is necessary for proper stitch formation.
