Question about Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U 42 in. LCD HDTV

TV Repair question

I have a Sharp Aquos model LC-45GX6U. When you turn the power on the screen comes on and you see the little blue light telling you the tv is on and the screen is white. The blue light is not coming on as if there is not power in the box itself.

If you have any information on this problem or can offer guidance as to how to repair this, please let me know. I have had a service technician come to the house, and he was unable to diagnose the problem. Thankfully, he did not charge me for the house call.

Seems I don't have a solution but a complaint. I had the same problem on a TV purchased 3 years ago. I've had the serviceman out 3 times and he's tried three different boards and last took the box and sent it to Sharp for diagnostic. They can't seem to determine the problem and have delined to pay the prorated value on the replacement cost. I've been without my TV for 5 weeks now. If they ever find the cause, please let me know.

I would replace the video and power board inside the unit some of these units with the help of a flat head screw driver just pop off.

Having an issue with a Sharp LC-45GX6U. It has been taking longer and longer to turn on.

Most likely the power supply board needs to be replaced. One or more of the capacitors is probably going bad.

If you don't know what you're doing, DON'T OPEN THE TV UP TO FIX IT, THERE ARE HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES ON THE POWER SUPPLY BOARD, EVEN WEEKS AFTER THE TV IS UNPLUGGED!
The capacitors in particular have the high voltage.

If you don't know how to do it yourself, find some local Electronic repair shops, get quotes, try to find reviews on the shops.

Sharp Aquos LC45GX6U & TU-GD10U. The unit doesn't power up, and has a red blinking light from the moment you plug it in. The unit works fine in service mode.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

The DC/DC converter went out on your set. When you take the top off of your AVC box look for a 4" X 5" circuit board mounted on the front left corner. I have seen these fail causing you white screen. Order the part from your local Sharp service center. Part # RDENCA089WJZZ

I have 2 flat panel TV's that don't work, one plasma, one lcd

Michael, my suggestion is that both units be scrapped. The plasma panel is broken the Dell and not cost effective to repair. If the inverter bds are missing in the Sharp, they were most pulled because the Sharp has a bad LCD panel. Not cost effective to fix either unit.
