Re: Will not turn on
Hi thanks for using fixya!
If you cannot really turn on the power of your Imate, even if you are charging it, make sure you are using appropriate charger! Once you have a chance to turn the power, try to make a hard reset. Or better if still not charging, try to recharge it using your USB cable and connect it to your pc or laptop.
And about the battery, usually it will not last for a year, atleast 6 months we need to change the battery especially PDAs, to have the efficient performance of it. Try to buy a new battery and test it. If still not work, perhaps you have a problem with the charger.
Good luck! if you need further assistance, let me know!
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I had the same problem with my Jamin so sent if off to the technician who informed me the Jarmin's internal circuitry prevents the phone being charged when the battery is under a certain voltage so when you use a plug in charger because the battery has very low power it does not trip a circuit in the Jamin to start the charging process. The only solution to to take the battery out of the unit and charge it with a stand-a-lone charger. Hope this makes sense.
Hi I had the same problem and posted under sanj981, my phone was over a year old so had built up alot of dust and over the conectors, etc.
I simple used a new soft brissled paint brush to dust the inside of the memory card slot gently. also did it by moistening the brush with electronic circuit cleaner (available from hardware stores), left the imate to dry with battery removed for about an hour, turned it on and inserted the card and it worked.
be careful not to get too much cleaner liquid in the slot, it will drip down and go under the lcd screen. it will then take a few days to evaporate.
I have had the same problem with my jamin and most of times soft resetting it via the button at bottom solves it. If it happens regularly, you might want to hard reset it. please make sure you backup your data and settings etc
