Question about Mitsubishi VS-60805 60" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Where can I get good E2PROM settings for Mitsubishi VS-60805?

My E2PROM on my Mitsubishi VS-60805 television was reset and I need to find someone with a working model who can give me their current settings, especially the deflection jungle. This would require accessing the service menu (which I can help you do, if you are a owner/non-serviceperson).

Please respond to this post and if you can help, we can exchange information then.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

There are instructions for accessing the Service menu starting around page 21 in the Service manual. You use the remote control plus numeric codes to view / change the settings.

There are quite a few codes that would need to be reviewed, so if you're not familiar with accessing the menu, you may not want to get involved with this! :-)

Mitsubishi VS-60805 Rear Projection won't operate in HD mode with Cable Box

Since this is an older first generation (1999) HD TV it may not be compatible with newer HDTV receivers because the standards back then were different - Make sure the HD cable box is plugged into the HD component inputs on the back of the TV (not the DVD inputs) and that the menu setting on the TV is set to DTV (not RGB) video. This TV will only accept 480i and 480p signals on the DVD input. Also the HDTV input will only accept 480i,480p and 1080i (it will not work with a 720p signal, make sure your cable box is not set to that mode)

Mitsubishi VS-60805

What you probably see is a burning area due to Cooling Fluid leaking from one of the CRTs. If this is the case, It is not worth fixing in my opinion because the Board would have to be replaced and the leaking CRT would also have to be replaced. The availability of the Board is doubtful Due to it's age. You can check at 1800-553-7278. This is Mitsubishi's parts department #.
Hope this helps,

I have a VS 60805 and i need a Convergence Generator. They say these are no longer Available. Any Suggestions?

General Consensus is that Mitsubishi is a Piece of ****, has been for a long time and I was lucky that my Set worked as long as it did. I guess it is just another benefit of not have any national product in the US anymore. No matter I will never Buy Mitsubishi Again.

Scrambled picture mitsubishi VS-60805

Hello deltamech,

Are you using your component video cables? if you are check to see if you are using the correct inputs. Look at the babck of your TV and see if the RGB (Lettering) matches with the box you are connecting to. What I am talking about is the YP(b)P(r) vs the YC(b)C(r) they are incompatable with each other.

Check that and if that is the case either match the two proper RGBs up or use another interface.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

No picture but sound

I had the same problem with the same model. If you pull the cover off the speakers in the front , then the small black panel. looking from the front past your lamps are the 3 main boards, the r/h board has wire jumpers connecting to the center board. The set that is closest to you had a bad/loose/corroded connection on mine. All I did was resecure connection(try moving them with your fingertip) and turn TV on and check.
