I would like to know what software is it talking about, doesit say something like the network adapter is not installed or the wireless adapter is not detected you need to tell exactly when the message popsups and is it giving any sort of a code or an error.

Did it really say *** couldn't find the software, or that it couldn't find something else, like maybe software related to some application on your computer?

You've posted under a wireless router topic, but you question does not give enough detail to understand what your asking.

You may have experienced an "UPGRADE" and now something does not work. Turn off the upgrades and restore to the day it worked or upgrade to windows 7.

Windows CE has a very limited software because it was made for a minimalistic computers and embedded systems. So the installed software right now on your computer is actually the only programs you can used. If you really wanted to install use other software liked what you mentioned. You have to use a computer which has an operating system like windows xp, vista or 7. Have a nice day

Have you had a look on the firewall website for a suitable firewall system that compliments windows 7?
I had to download a new one myself when I went from Windows XP to Windows Vista.

Sometimes changing systems means you should also change your firewall, then you'll have the most up-to-date software going. Plus it won't slow your computer down like it doesn't sometimes.
Hope I helped Dr Reed

if a software/product is not compatible with vista, it is best not to use with vista. Either switch to xp, or buy another product which is compatible with vista. Most adpators nowawadays are compatible with vista, and i do NOT recommend buying a d-link product.

Hope this helped! ^_^ have a great day

Problem with downloading router driver/firmware

You don't need software for the router. Is your wireless encrypted or open? Just view avaiable networks with your xp machine and choose your network to connect to. If you do have an encrypted signal use the vista machine and type in the ip address to the router in your browser window. I think belkins router ip is 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.0.1 Hope this helps, let me know

Wireless router

Router setup
You do not have to use the cd.
Go to the control panel and un-install the program that the cd installed. then:
Shutdown your PC. Unplug the power from the router and the cable modem.
Wait 30 sec. then plug in the power to the cable modem, wait 30 sec. then plug the power to the router. Wait till you have "Internet" light then restart your PC. The PC should pick up an IP address and you should be able to get on-line. This is if you have a cable service provider. If you have DSL, the router needs to be configured with PPOe.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Netgear Wireless Router 108 MBPS

It's not the same. Your Netgear router version is V1. I did not find any downloadable upgrades either - I have the same router. My connection problem turned out to be between my DSL modem (AT&T), router and PC. What I needed to do was, under "Basic Settings," click no where it asks if your service requires login, then at the bottom of the tab, click the option to acquire the MAC address directly from the wired (desktop) computer. ("this computer" on the tab) Once I had done that, the router enable the modem correctly and I could use the desktop and the wireless access for my laptop. Frustrating, because if you have AT&T as your service provider, Netgear's instructions tell you to do the exact opposite.
