Question about Delta Model 470: Signature Kitchen Pull-Down/Out Faucet - White

Faucet will not pivot

I hope I am not posting this twice... My Delta 470 faucet will no longer pivot right or left. It used to pivot about 45 degrees in either direction. It was installed about 2 years ago by a professional plumber.

Now it seems jammed. I do not think I can remove the cap without damaging the finish of the faucet. It appears to be very tight. And I am a bit concerned about a bunch of loose parts coming out. However, I am pretty handy and can probably get it back together if that is the only solution. Any guidance would be appreciated.

    This is exactly what I needed to know. I suspected it, but was not certain, and I did not want to do further damage by forcing something that was not going to give way. I assume the cap unscrews in a conventional direction? I will give it a try. Thanks.

    Your solution solved my problem. It was a lot easier to turn the faucet cap when I used the rag between the vice-grips and the cap, for some reason. Once loose, I was able to raise the faucet about 1/2 inch without even disconnecting the hose, and I could easily clean out the debris that was preventing rotation. Thanks a lot.

The cap has to come off. I usually use a channel lock pliers with a thick rag on the chrome cap .After the cap comes off you may have to put some kind of lub in it such as silicone spray lub.  Twist the spout back and forth while raising it up. Yes. I may take quite a bit of strength and many many back and forth motions to come loose. After you have it off you wil see the menerial deposits or damaged o-rings causing the lasck of movement. The o-rings are available at most hardware stores or a plumbing supply store for sure.    If the cap cannot come off w/o damage,would you not be willing to replace it anyway,rather than have it stay stationary?

Contact Delta at 800-345-3358 and ask for replacement parts. With the lifetime warranty Delta customer service was awesome and sent out parts I needed to fix this same faucet.

Delta swivel faucet won't swivel. I can barely get it to move left to right.


Take handle off it has set screw that holds it on top of faucet after handle is off it has a locking collar they may have it to tight you can get a little wrench from hardware store that turns it. most are plastic so be careful if you try to move it you may try a little at a time to see if it free's up.

You have to buy a Genuine Delta Part because Delta uses a proprietary quck connect fitting at the end of the hose.

Replace the seal on the 470 DST single handle pull out faucet


Turn the water off at the faucet, remove the handle and the retaining nut that is apart of the trim. You will see where you can use a wrench to remove it. The ball assembly will come right out and you can replace the washers right below it. Put it back together and if needed, tighten the tension ring that is on the retaining nut (usually grey or white in color) so it won't leak water around the ball stem. Good luck.

DELTA MODEL 470-WH LOW WATER FLOW AT KITCHEN FAUCET


This could be a couple of things.

  1. First remove the aerator from the wand and make sure you have plenty of flow with it off.
  2. If there is flow clean or replace the aerator.
  3. Remove the wand and look between the hose connection and the wand there should be a screen between them. Remove the screen and clean or replace.
  4. Make sure hose is kinking under the sink.
