Question about Delta Model 470: Signature Kitchen Pull-Down/Out Faucet - White

2 Answers

I can no longer pivot my Delta 470 faucet right or left

The faucet was installed by a plumber. When first installed, the faucet would pivot about 45 degrees from center, to the right and left. It no long will pivot at all.

The problem seems to be in the portion above the sink level, however I cannot remove the top cap - it seems to take a special tool. I tried with a small wrench, but it will most obviously damage the faucet appearance. It functions correctly in every other way. I am afraid that even if I get the cap off, I will have a bunch of loose parts, and may have difficulty re-assembling, but I am pretty handy.

I have viewed the installation instructions and spec sheets on line, along with the Delta tips, but nothing seems to refer to this type of problem. I would appreciate any guidance.

SOURCE: faucet will not pivot

The cap has to come off. I usually use a channel lock pliers with a thick rag on the chrome cap .After the cap comes off you may have to put some kind of lub in it such as silicone spray lub.  Twist the spout back and forth while raising it up. Yes. I may take quite a bit of strength and many many back and forth motions to come loose. After you have it off you wil see the menerial deposits or damaged o-rings causing the lasck of movement. The o-rings are available at most hardware stores or a plumbing supply store for sure.    If the cap cannot come off w/o damage, would you not be willing to replace it anyway, rather than have it stay stationary?

Delta Kitchen Single Faucet 470 suddenly would not give water

Debris in the valve is a fairly common cause for stopping water flow in single lever valves. You can first check the aereator and remove any debris that may be there at the faucet itself. Then you can try to remove the ball at the control lever. You have to be careful and make sure that you do not drop any parts. Especially if this is a recent installation, you may find a large piece of something there.
