Question about Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

1 Answer

Dyson won't pick up heavier particles -

For months now I have been putting up with my Dyson not picking up heavier dirt particles in the upright position. The wand works good and when I need to pick up the heavier dirt that shows I have to use the wand since the upright position doesn't seem to work well. It does pick up fine dust particles since I see that some stuff does collect inside the canister.
I have cleaned my filter and nothing seems to be obstructed. I am at loss what could be causing this problem and am ready to take it to a professional unless you can help. Thanks!

I have checked everything you suggested and cannot find any blockages. I am stumped and may have to resort to taking it in to a professional. Thanks for the suggestion.

Check the hose line from the base to inlet of the canister, there may be a blockage, like hair or plastic (i had a lego block and hair)

clear obstruction, and check the belt.
hope this works !

Not picking up dirt

Hi Madhuri,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. If the machine won't pick up through the cleaner head, there may be a blockage somewhere. The easiest way to check for this is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/help.asp?article=5&product=DC07-ST-BC

It's also a good idea to wash the filter - in normal use, this should be done at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for it to dry completely before replacing it.

This should resolve your issue, but if you need any further assistance, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Jack

Vacuum throws dirt onto machine and not in it

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

It sounds as though your machine is blocked. This is why the dirt is being dropped back out on your floor and also why the bin is not filling up.

Simply follow the blockage procedure in your user guide, or on our website at www.dyson.com. Visit the support section and you will be able to download a user guide. This will also allow you to confirm if the machine is correctly assembled and that there are no parts missing on disconnected.

Kind regards
Darran
