Question about Kitchen Ranges

Install older microwave

Ok, you seem to be the guru on these boards. Maybe you can help me out. =]

I have an old kenmore microhood combo Model # 721.8935590

I got it secondhand and I can't figure out how to get the exhaust vent off (I removed 3 white head screws) so i can access the 2 screws in the back holding the back install mounting board to the microwave. (Is that a clear description?)

I called Sears to order a manual & of course it no longer exists. (because it's so old) Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

We have a microwave with no power. Breaker is fine and outlet has power...is there a fuse or reset? fuse

The main circuit board should have a fuse on it. They usually are white ceramic, not clear glass so you cannot see if the element is burned. Turn power off then fift one end out of holder to do continuity test.

Kenmore microwave hood combination

If you have tried to reset the microwave oven by turning the mains power off and on without success then it is likely the display is faulty.
The only way to repair is replace the control panel board. This can cost a lot of money.

See this site to give you some idea. Best to contact a repair technician and get an idea of costs.

Kenmore micro hood 721.80033700 shorted out

There is a 20Amp Buss Fuse that is WHITE. you need to find that fuse and replace it and all will work. When you shorted out the hood, the Fuse protects the rest of the hood. Find the Fuse, Replace it and all will be well.

POWER IT OFF and BREAKER OFF before you replace the fuse..

Are you sure Microwave needs outside venting? Most don't. Kenmor is a Sears brand. Just check with them or in their catalogue.

I have a LG microwave oven model LMVM2075SB. It's

We just finished replacing the touchpad on the same model microwave. Several of the numbers and other controls on the pad stopped responding to touch.

You could have the same problem. These touchpads seem very fragile to me.

The touchpad itself was only $25.00 plus shipping. The pad is attached with adhesive and pulls off when heat from a hair dryer is applied to the pad. The new one comes with new adhesive and is fairly easy to attach. The problem arises when you have to connect the wiring from the touchpad to the microwave's circuitry. There is a circuit board in the door which this wiring connects to, and the door has to be disassembled to get to this board. The door components are held together with the two screws that hold the handle on, and numerous plastic tabs.

I would guess that it took us about 2 hours to do the job. Most of the time involved removing the door, disassembling it, and reassembling it.

Everything works perfectly now.

Brand new Kenmore microwave fan does not **** up air

It's easier to notice air blowing out of something than it is to notice air being sucked into something. Put a pot of boiling water on the stove and see if the oven sucks up the steam from it. If it does, it's working fine.
