As far as I know, Toshiba laptop does not have a reinstallation partition in their laptop, so you need to use Windows media (DVD disk). If you don't have a specific Toshiba DVD (your laptop comes with this DVD), then you can use a generic Windows media, and later you need to download the drivers from Toshiba's website.
If you don't have the Windows media, then you need to buy it form Toshiba, Microsoft, eBay or this guy: http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/sys/4359959590.html
You are trying to downgrade the OS, and with MS Windows you can't unless you wipe your hard disk of all that's on it including the current OS.
Upgrading is possible, but back-peddling, is basically impossible.
Windows 7 is two versions newer than XP, or whatever OS is currently running on your Laptop.
If you wish to install Win XP, then you'l need the full installation XP disc, not the upgrade disk. I'm Not sure, but I think most PC repair shops can do this for you at little cost, XP is still very popular and is still in use by millions around the world, so give that a try.
If the Notebook cannot find the device driver it is looking for then use this restore disk for an easy solution.
WINDOWS IS NOT ON THIS RESTORE DISK
This restore disk will only work for use with Toshiba Qosmio F30-112. This restore disk contains every driver for the Toshiba Qosmio F30-112.
