How do I remove the glass in an Officejet 7130. The glass is cloudy inside.
Not easy, quite a pain actually and far too long for me to type out, in short all covers off, doc feeder off, all conectors and earth straps that go from top to bottom must be disconnected, two main screws R+L hold the top half to the bottom, then the top slides forward and off from the base.
Then once you have two units the printer and the scanner, you can remove operations panel cover, remove securing screws in underside of scanner ,,,,,
One can just get the little glass out very easy one screw and no splits, but it is near impossible to clean the glass properly, also if you are brave enough to split the unit, you best be doing the mirrors because all go yellow and cause scanner failure.. I've done this probally 6 times, I quote 2-3 hrs and perswaide people it aint a good idea to fix these scanners,
the best easy fix is forget the fog on glass, it's normally not the real issue, its the mirrors near the lamp that are the dirty ones, causing scanner to dance and not come to ready and throw errors,
open **** glass then by turning power off and on over and over, one can move the scanner ever so slowly towards the other end of the glass do you can get to mirrors with a cotton bud, the on off way works but I myself grab the belt with plyiers and manually drive the scanner to the other end, if on the other hand the scanner works stop it mid print then go at it... cheers sorry no simple answer cause it just wasn't made to be got at.. don't have to tell me I know....
