Either the fuse under the cover is blown, or your power supply is shot. check the fuse first, by removing dvd cover.

My Toshiba SDP93S portable DVD player won't work.

The power supply adapter may be dead, should be tested, if okay! remove the main battery will load player down in some cases. If still no result! cheaper to replace than repair.

Our toshiba mw20f52 tv/vcr/dvd won't turn on. It worked fine last night. Is it fixable or dead? Should we try anything in particular to "jump" it? And there are a dvd and a vhs still in it! ...

You may have blown a fuse in which case something else inside is probably shorted. Check diodes and transistors near the blown fuse if you know how. If you're not comfortable working on electronics I would check the phonebook for a hometown TV repair shop. They may be nice enough to retrieve your movies for you at a minimal charge and maybe give an idea of how much to fix the set. Good luck.

Won't play any DVDs

I mostly first always recommend a dvd lens cleaner to clean the lens incase there is something on the lens.

Is the player underwarranty? the lens may have a issue other than dirt and might need to be replaced.

What happened last time it worked fine? try unpluging the dvd player for 5 minutes and try again.

Mintek 8.5 1815 seems dead.... ? was working last time used

Looks like the power board in the device is defective. Best suggestion (and cheaper option) would be to simply buy a new portable..

I have had this same problem on my Toshiba. I went through the Control Panel and their were settings for the dvd player it used. You can change settings and they sometimes change automatically.

Completely dead

Hi This is my opinion only, but I have worked on many many DVD players, and if you don't need anything fancy, then go for the $30.00 unit. Actually, I would look for something in the $50.00 range, as the $30.00 units are very cheaply made. I have often worked on a $100.00 unit, followed by a $50.00 unit, which had the exact same laser and mechanism inside, the only difference being the brand name stamped on the front. But.... You could purchase three $30.00 units, for $100.00 and if you used them one at a time until the last one died, I dare say they would very likely outlast the $100.00 unit by far. I've probably just confused you now, so I'll just end by saying that on a regular t.v., the picture will look just as good using either option, and you can have good luck or bad luck with any piece of electronics expensive or not. Good Luck!
