The feed roller was turning but the paper wasn't moving and so I kept getting an "out of paper message." The paper was actually getting caught on a small black piece in the back of the printer. I removed the black piece and the paper start to feed fine.

Remove the back access door (it just pops out... no screwdriver required). The black guide piece (2nd from left) is about the size of my little toe after I took it out. Use a flat head screw driver to pop it out... that should leave 3 black guide pieces left. Put the access door back on the printer and the problem should be solved.1610 all in one.....won't grab paper - cf725f2.jpg

Try these steps and check if this did not then there a hard ware problem with the printer , rollers are not functioning in the printer:

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.

Error message to "Load Paper"

Push something thicker than a plain sheet of paper through. Cut a side of a manilla folder into a 8.5"x11" and let the printer try to grab it during a copy. After doing it's normal "grab the right side until it's skewed and stop", continue to try to push it through.

My samsung ml-1610 printer always getting paper jam on print job. Is this problem related to fuser or something else? please help me...

There are a series of rollers which are made of rubber in the unit. When these rollers become dry or covered with dust (usually from cheap paper) they arent able to pick up paper correctly any longer.

Think of it as though you are trying to turn a page, and you have to lick your finger to do so.

Its the same concept. When your printer grabs the paper, it cannot hold it while it is rolling it through the printer.

There are kits available through your manufacturer or a local print shop which can clean your printer and help to restore it to its working order.

Hope this helps!

Photo printing errors

This is not the fault of printer. Choose those type of photo paper, whose thickness is equal to executive bond paper. This type of printer do not catch the thick photo quality paper

Paper caught part way through printing

There is a line of sensors along the paper path, if any of these are obscured by even the smallest scrap of paper you will get the messasge, re check the paper path again it only needs a scrap of paper, also worth a try power off and unplug for 2 minutes to allow residual power to drain and then try power up and see if the message has cleared. Last but not least if you can spot any of the sensors give them a blow with some compressed air (paper dust build up) and retry a reboot

Clp 310 laser printer can not seem to properly grab the paper from the tray and causes paper jam error. There is a small spring loaded platform at the top end of the paper tray that seems to push the paper...

The pickup roller is loaded with paper dust. You can try cleaning it with alcohol and a swab, but to clean all the rollers in the paper path, get some cleaning sheets from an office supply store. They are sticky on both sides. Run it through a couple of times.

HP 1610 printer

It occurred to me when I was reading your post that photo paper has printing and non-printing sides. If the paper is loaded upside down, it's printing on the non-print side, which would result in what you're seeing. It's just a hunch, but you might want to consider it.

HP.com has a web page that will walk you through the process of checking on this and other potential problems.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Printer problems

I understand that you have not used it much. But you need to make sure the rollers are clean. Take it apart and make sure nothing is on the rollers. If that does not help, check on the printer and see if there is a reset button to reset the whole machine. It may be malfunctioning for some reason and this should fix the problem. If that does not help you will have to take it to a tech.
