Question about Apple iPod nano 3rd Generation

Frozen i have an ipod classic 160 gb, it it was half the batt so i turned it off. when i looked at my ipod it was on but it was locked. i tried to turn it on but it doesnt,so i have to wait for it to drain the batt so i have to charge it again . someone pls help!!!

Hi,

Whenever you face the same issue you can try these steps

  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Ipod doesn't do nothing

Restoring an ipod


Make sure you got the latest itunes version and latest ipod classic version.  Also you need to be on the original computer you used to sync with the ipod.  Open up itunes and connect the ipod.  Your ipod should show up on the computer.  Just click on the restore itunes back to factory default button and you should be g to g.

80 GB Ipod Classic shows locked and click wheel not working


Slide the switch on the top of the ipod to where it shows white instead of orange. If it is already off hold, then you may have a broken hold switch.

First thing to try is a reset

To reset your iPod:
  • 1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

Press and the center button while pressing down on the menu button. That will reboot your Ipod.

My Ipod classic 80 gb is frozen and won't turn on or charge!! HELP!!!!!!!


If it keeps happening (and your hear clicking or repetitive sound from inside) you have a broken hard drive. Open the iPod classic and replace the hard drive. The part is available on ebay. Here's a guide on how to disassemble an iPod classic. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you. If you want to pay to have a service do it for you there are third party iPod Repair Services.
