Question about Magic Chef CTB2125 Top Freezer Refrigerator
The past few days we have been having power outages because of thunderstorms. when we have a power outage the fridge stops working immediatley after. a few days later the fridge will just start working again. i know its not the circuit breaker. should we have a repair man come in. the fridge is not just yet 2 years old.
Good possibility that the electrical contacts have failed (burned/welded) in either the defrost timer (part# 68233-3) or the Cold Control (part# 61002085. An intermittent failure is extremely difficult to track down. Both of the parts I listed total about $80. You can purchase them and install them for less $$ than having a professional do it for you. We would obviously charge more because we would absorb the cost of warranty, labor, drive time, etc... If you choose to replace these components, UNPLUG THE FRIDGE BEFORE HAND!
