Hi, You will have no problem at all replacing the DVD/RW, you may however have to pop the front off the tower, you do this by pulling on the front bottom of the unit and the cover should pop off, the DVD itself will unscrew from the case.
Hi I have a gateway tower about 7-9 years old. could you tell me how much a 60- 80 gig harddrive will cost and where I could get such an animal? I need to run a couple of programs and I don't have enough room.
not powering up does not mean the mother board is bad , the power supply going bad is more likely to be the problem . But your tower is considered to be a mini tower ive got the same one that I replaced the mother board on . dont mess up and get the wrong size board , it will not fit!
This a tower right? I don't have a gateway but I have a dell and a compaq tower they come apart pretty much the same way. The left side panel slides out by pulling from the back. Some may have a screw or two you have to loosen or take out. Then you can either slide it by pulling from the back or there could be a latch that you slide to unlock it. Wow I can't believe it 60 bucks. Just keep messing with it you'll figure it out!
