Find the gas valve and turn it to pilot. (Or light) Use a long reach lighter. Light the lighter and press the knob in. Light the pilot and continue to hold the knob in for about 15 seconds. When you release it, the pilot should stay lit. If it doesn't, you need a new thermocouple. That's the small tube that the flame touches when the pilot's lit. They're inexpensive and usually not too hard to replace.

I'm having the same exact problem... At first we thought was the vent... but the way the flames goes out... it seems that there is "not enough oxygen" more than "blown out by the wind"... right after both main & pilot goes out, I can't even light any external flame inside the chamber... and it doesn't feel like the outside cold air coming in... it just feel like there is some sort of gas in the chamber that's so strong, it prevents flame... and the only thing I can think of is that it doesn't have enough oxygen, but too much natural gas, and flame can't sustain.

I solved my problem by hiring a plumber. Williams website is so difficult I couldn't even get a part number. Its all about selling something by way of you guys. Nothing personal to you, Williams is a company that doesn't want much to do with a customer after they sell a product.

Heater will not stay lit!!!

Lets start with safety. Check your vent pipe for obstructions, mainly outside at the vent cap. The safety of this unit will not allow it to operate if there is anything blocking the vent. If all is OK, then next we will light and observe the pilot with it on the pilot setting on gas valve. The pilot flame should consume the tip of the generator point by 1/2 to 5/8". If it does not, then screw off the pilot adjust screw cover on the gas valve. This is clearly marked on the top of the valve. Inside you will have a much smaller screw. Turn it counter clockwise to raise the pilot level, clockwise to decrease. Never consume more than 5/8" of the generator tip. Hopefully your problem will be resolved here at this step. If however it is OK, then take a millivolt meter and read the generator millivolts, at the gas valve with the thermostat contacts closed. It should read 140 millivolts. You need this much power to properly operate the heater. If it is lower than 140, then replace the pilot generator....Rob Just a note...Do not remove or take apart any part of the Gas valve, other than the pilot adjust screw cover...Good Luck.

Williams debonair wall heater + pilot light problems

THE flame from the pilot should shoot past the thermo-couple and heat this up and make a small amount of mili- amps to prove the pilot light is lit. ..So if the flame doesn,t go past the thermo-couple it won, make mili-amps or its tme to change out the thermo-couple, They only cost lest than $8:00 and you can change it!

Re Williams 3003622 Heater Please advise how to ignite pilot light.

You will first need to turn the control knob to pilot. Then depress the control knob button and hold it. Then press the push button piezo igniter several times until pilot lights or open pilot inspection cover and manually light pilot with match/lighter. You may need to hold the control knob for at least a minute. Then release the control knob and if the pilot stays lit then turn the control knob to on. If it does not light then repeat the process again.

Williams 3003622 Wall Mounted Panel Heater Draft Blows Pilot Out.

yes. open cover, set to pilot and push in then light with a long nosed butane lighter like the ones used for lighting stoves. Hold pilot in for a few minutes, then close pilot cover and turn pilot knob to on position. that should take care of it unless you need a new coupler. good luck as the couplers go out on these heaters prematurely.

Williams Model 435FXR Serial GO222436 Forced air pilot keeps going out

BY THERMISTOR, ARE YOU MEANING THERMOCOUPLE, I.E. WHAT YOUR PILOT LIGHT IS HEATING? IF SO, COULD BE WEAK AND NOT GENERATING ENOUGH VOLTAGE TO STAY OPEN, SHOULD BE BETWEEN 10-25 MILLIVOLTS DC, WHICH CAN BE TESTED AT THE INTERRUPTER LEADS. YOU CAN ALSO BYPASS THE LIMIT DISC TEMPORARILY TO SEE IF THE UNIT STAYS LIT, REPLACE IT IF THE UNIT RUNS.
