The screen does not illuminate correctly. The device is on but it is virtually impossible to read the screen

Did you take the screen apart to clean it? did it happen on its own? How old is the device are you still in warranty?

Wont charge

Isolate the problem. Try using another charger or bring the device to an authorized repair shop so that you could try another battery.

Most repair shops have their test batteries available.

Doing these would let you know which one is causing the problem. Is it the battery or the charger. If none of them is causing the problem, I'm sure that there's a loose wire inside that needs to be soldered.

Ipod wont take a charge

your ipod is exhibiting symptoms of a bad motherboard.
I would plug it in the charger with an a/c charger for a while and try it.
If you have been playing this ipod on a dock, chances are it has a bad motherboard.
You also may need a new battery but i don;t think the battery is making your ipod have the symptoms you explained.

i have replaced many motherboards in the 30 gigs due to people playing them on docks and the boards frying, mostly the charging circuit, and the sound. There is also a chip that comes lose on the 30's if your turn the ipod on with a headphones in and squeeze the ipod on the right side of the clickwheel just down from the middle of the click or >> button the ipod may create sound. if so your motherboard needs to be replaced.

Good Luck

Charging problem

Hello lil ronaldo,

It sounds like the internal battery pack may be failing. The rechargeable batteries commonly used in MP3 players last a long time but they do eventually fail and when that happens the battery will fail to properly hold a charge. It may come up to full voltage when you attempt to charge it but will quickly run out of power when removed from the charger. This sounds like what is happening based on your description.

I would recommend contacting Samsung to get battery replacement service. You can call them at 1-800-SAMSUNG (726-7864) or use their online service request tool. If the unit is outside of the original manufacturer's warranty there will probably be a charge for the service.

30 gig Ipod wont come on

Hello HBB-Wildman,

It sounds like the battery in the iPod may have failed. The internal battery pack in the iPod is designed to last a long time but will eventually fail and require replacement.

I would suggest either taking the unit into your local Apple Store or following the procedure on the iPod support page to get service on the unit.

Best Regards,

Gigavu PRO

If the Giga Vu hangs, hold down the two end buttons of the 5 along the bottom, then press the power button for a few seconds. This should now turn off the device. Give it a few seconds then turn it back on. Some times I have to plug in the power for a couple of minutes before turning it back on.
