I was able to get to login screen but not enter password, then at shutdown alarm started. When I tried to restart alarm sounded so turned it off again.
First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to check if the hard drive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a working computer's USB port. If this computer cannot see it as an USB mass storage device and you cannot open the various folders and files on this drive, then this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Your hard drive maybe failing. I would make a back up as soon as possible . Then I would do a dskchk, Here's how:
Double-click My Computer, and then right-click the hard disk that you want to check.
Note If one or more of the files on the hard disk are open, you will receive the following message:
The disk check could not be performed because the disk check utility needs exclusive access to some Windows files on the disk. These files can be accessed by restarting Windows. Do you want to schedule the disk check to occur the next time you restart the computer?
Click Yes to schedule the disk check, and then restart your computer to start the disk check.
Please don't forget to rate this solution.

You would be well advised to hit F8 and do a safe mode. Then check the disk. More details here: http://annoyances-resolved.blogspot.com/2009/09/laptop-wont-boot-and-shows-blank-screen.html
