No you will need to1) insert the mp3 player into the computer2) navigate to the mp3 player folder the contains the music files you would like to keep.3) once your inside the folder with the music select one file by left clinking one of the media files,4) locate the control key on the bottom left or right side of the keyboard.5) locate the letter a key6) press and hold the control key and the a key at the same time, all the files should highlight blue.drag them to your desktop or my documents folder and thats it, you may then erase the drive/mp3 player--Good Luck.

you can change the usb mode in the sansa player settings to MCS then connect it to the computer, in windos xp the device will be recognized automacally. go to the explorer or to my pc and you should see it there.. go to the folder music and delete what you want,, you can copy music as well.

then desconect it safely and restart the device,, It will refresh the database and that's it.

you can change the USB mode bac to MTP if you wish.

SOURCE: I HAVE AN EMERSON MP3

I have an Emerson 2gb MP3 player model EMP 312-2, not sure if this info is for you or not. Make sure you are in the MUSIC MODE, when you use the menu button to go from music mode, voice mode, settings etc. you must push menu button again when the mode you want is hi-lited. I had a similar problem. Files were loaded (my music is on my harddrive already so I just copy to mp3 player) but when I turned player on it said no files. AHA, I finally realized I had somehow got into the voice mode and I did not have any voice files, so it said no files. I then went to Folder Mode and it only said micin.dir and it was empty, THAT WAS BECAUSE I WAS IN VOICE MODE, when I switched to music mode, they were all there. I know this sounds very rudimentary, but I am pretty computer literate and had no idea how I switched to voice mode. Before I figured this out for myself I called Emerson customer service, they said it was bad firmware and send it back. If someone there had walked me through what I just told you it would have saved me a lot of time. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: i don,t know how to put music on my mp3 player

Windows Media Player has the Sync tab. I believe that WMP 9 does. But not 10. Either way, you can just open up the player in the My Computer folder. Then copy and paste any music files you have.

SOURCE: my GC-821 pink mp3 player says

Do NOT open the "RECORD" folder and put your music in it.
Put you music in the folder that opens. the "RECORD" folder is NOT for you to put music into. It is for you to get your .WAV recordings out of.

Ohhhhh, now you get it!!!!

Artist all songs is wrong

This means that your Library is corrupted and needs to be recreated this will not delete you *.omg files just you library.

Please delete your Library: Go to the Windows Explorer, and make sure to make hidden files visible (go to the Tools on the menu and click the Folder Options, then on the View tab, select the Show hidden files and folder.)
Browse to C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sony Corporation\CONNECT Player\Library and delete all the files located in this folder. Then, recreate a new library.

Loading protected songs onto MP3 player

What I would recommend you to do is to delete the songs that are not playing for the device then transfer them back...Your SanDisk Sansa does not allow you to delete files from within the player.
Instead I recommend that you follow the steps below to delete the music
You have to make sure that the device is on MSC mode...then make sure your device is plug in to the computer..Then go to programs - accesories - windows explorer, find the SanDisk in my computer, go to media, music and delete them from there.
Either under sync panel in your windows media player it will show your music when it's connected. just click the plus signs for what song you need to get rid of, right click and click delete.
Hope this helps

P.S.Please rate accordingly...
