Trouble hooking up sony components..Bravia, Home theatre, blu-ray

Hi,
I have Sony conponents all the way around. Just purchased a blu ray player and I can't figure out how to get all hooked together. Home theatre, and blu ray both only have HDMI out slots. 2 available HDMI slots in back of Bravia 46" LCD. Also, only one optical cord hole per unit. How can I link them all together? I don't want to have to undo optical cord each time I want surround sound for the tv.I have a high def. cable box to factor in as well. Thank you

Got your post, I will work with the model #s. Get back with you soon. Also a tip for now: HDMI carries true digital video and audio so you may not need the optic cables.

    Hi.

The easiest way to connect your devices:

    1. HDMI cable from Cable box to HDMI #1 on TV.

    2. HDMI cable from Blu-Ray to HDMI #2 on TV.

    3. Digital audio cable from TV AUdio outpot to Theatre system Digital input.
Your Blu-Ray and Cable box need to be connected directly to the TV with an HDMI cable in order to display 1080p, which is the highest resolution.

Let me know if this helps and if you require further support.

What kind of discs r you using? Blu-ray players enforce on the wire encryption called HDCP. I got a call from a customer who was trying to use a cable box and ps3 hooking up to some splitter, then to a single HDMI on the tv. Turns out he was possibly breaking the handshake between the source and the television. Try a non copyrighted video, like a burned copy of a dvd or a home video. and see what happens.

Upgrading dvd to blu-ray - how can I use my existing surround sound speakers?

Unfortunately because your existing system does not have the option of connecting an external source, such as another DVD player, the only option you have is to reuse your existing speakers and purchase another amplifier. Trying to patch another DVD into your existing unit would require a bit of technical expertise which would be more trouble than it is worth. The all-in one concept is convenient but very limiting in terms of expansion.

Toshiba HDTV + SONY PLAYSTATION 3 + SONY Home Theatre DAVHDX265

I have looked up the infomation on your TV I noticed that your TV has two HDMI input plugs. Since your SONY BRAVIA is hooked up to one port, you need to buy another HDMI cable for your PS3. On your tv remote you should have an option to switch from video 1 to video 2 so then you can switch from the SONY BRAVIA to the PS3 the problem is you will only hear your PS3 Sound from you TV. If you want to hear your PS3 sound from your SONY BRAVIA you need to buy an optical cable (also called TOSLINK) to connect from your PS3 to the SONY BRAVIA.

Hope that helps!
