Borrowed a pc while mine is being repaired, the loaner ps won't recognise my lexmark, and, I can't find the disc that came with it. I called Bestbuy and they told me to call you. A) Does the computer have Adobe Reader on it? If so which version?
B) Do you have Administrative rights (access) to this computer? The owner is the Administrator, or a computer repair person can be designated as the Administrator.
The entity you borrowed the computer from may have the administrator rights, and as such YOU cannot download, and install Adobe Reader.
It could be that your cartridges need some cleaning. On your computer, launch the Lexmark Solution Center. Click Start menu > Programs or All Programs >Lexmark 2500 Series > Lexmark Solution Center. From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them. Try to print again.
If it has been overloaded with too many dvd's, then you won't be able to eject them. You'll have to disassemble and remove the discs manually, if you are not comfortable doing this, call an electronics shop, most large ones (FutureShop, BestBuy) will preform repairs. Cheers!
If Windows does not detect the hard-drive, then the electronics on the hard-drive are "dead", and only a professional "Data Recovery Service" should be retained to pull data from the hard-drive.
P.S. Be sure that the jumper on the hard-drive is set to 'MASTER', not to 'SLAVE', not to 'CABLE SELECT'.
i have had similar problems as well as multiple friends of mine. to solve this, you must call the playstation company and send your system in to be serviced. if you have purchased it within the last year and have proof, sony will fix it for free. if not, they will charge you $150 for their services. this is the only way to fix the problem
Try your disk in another PC to test. If the disk works, your CD drive is faulty. Try another disk in your computer's drive. If the disk doesn't work, you have confirmed that the drive is faulty.
If the drive is a problem, I would suggest to purchase a disk head cleaner, first. Then, if the drive is still a problem, it would need replacing.
