A lot of times the "static" Is actually a loos connection in the microphone or a dirty micke gain control. Radio shack sells a cheap tuner cleaner if you know how to take the covers of and find the mic gain control, spray it in the little slot in the control( be generous) move the knob back anf forth several times. Also if you have another mike wired for cobra, try it and see if it helps. Those two solutions fix 98 percent of the problems. If it doesn't, please let me know. I am very good with cobra radioes and am sure we can solve this problem.
Good Luck. If this so;ution helps, please rate me.

Make sure the squelch is turned all the way to the left, the RF GAIN is turned all the way to the right. The cobra 29 has a very good noise blanker, Turn the ANL/NB switch to off, You will probably hear a Lot of static, As long as you have a good ground on the radio and antenna, and your SWR is 1.5 or lower, you need not worry about static.

I have a midland 75-822 micro mobile-portable cb in my van. a lot of static and i was wondering how to correct it. thank you kindly.

your problem has many fixes depending on how you use your radio, but first think of were you are transmitting from a van or car is literally a big metal box so the squelch minimum will increase a bit if your antenna is inside the van. but if you use/get the UHF-DC adapter for this radio it will alow you to mount a exturnal antenna on the outside of the van, the other possibility is a bad placement of the antenna try changing its location. however if the noise increases as you excelarate then you might need a in line DC Noise Filter.

GALAXY 88 HIGHT STATIC IN THE RECEIVE ..

Hi,

If the antenna for the other properly operating radio is used with the radio with the noise and you are getting the static then we can assume it is the radio. If you hear signals with the static, that is, it does receive communications at the same time, there may be a problem with the noise reduction circuitry, or a defective component(s) in the receiver. Without knowing your experience I would suggest taking to a radio shop.

I have no reciving in a cobra 29 ltd chrome

Bad switch. It's that simple. The factory switches are crimp together junk. You may be able to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to softly squeeze the case of the switch together to correct the poor contact in side of the switch, but, if it gets a lot of use you may need to replace it altogether. Or try adjusting

Thanks!

Troubleshooting?

You could peak and tweek it to a legal limit. A local CB Shop should be able to help if they do repairs. Good Luck
