Question about Dell XPS M1210 Notebook
I have a Dell m1210 notebook that does not power on completely. What i mean by this is that when I press the power button and a couple seconds later it just powers off before the bios screen. I tried reseating the memory and hdd but to no avail...
I suspect the safety circuits is detecting a big power drain. What I would do is pull one thing off at a time and see if it stays on. Such like hard drive, memory, and anything else you can. Even disconnecting the LCD if you have too.
Another possibility is that your battery is bad. Try to boot up without the battery and just on AC. No help? Maybe the AC is bad. Try running on the battery alone and no AC.
That pretty much covers everything. If nothing works above, it is the motherboard. :(
