After leaving mu Ipaq 3715 for 1 week it would not power up. I thought it may be the battery so I purchased a replacement with no success. The charging light does not light uo when it is in it's cradle but the battery does charge as it becomes warm. I have tried a hard reset...no joy... also have left battery out for 12 hours and charged on mains for 24 hours...all with out success.....just dead. nothing happening at all. It was working fine before I went away....The battery door is not damaged and the trip switch inside the battery cover is pressed..

To perform a soft-reset (if the device has locked), briefly insert the stylus or a paperclip into the reset hole on the bottom left of the 3715
To perform a hard reset (losing all data!), insert the stylus or a paperclip into the reset hole on the bottom left of the 3715 while holding down the far left and far right of the four main buttons. Information in the iPAQ File Store will not be lost, but data on the Internal memory will be wiped. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
Its possible (but not likely) that when you took it into a warm room condensation built up inside it. Try removing the battery, memory cards and letting it sit in a warm, dry environment for a few days and try again.
If nothing changes I suspect that a component has failed, but -6F is still within the operational range of commercial electronics. If your device is still in warranty then I would call HP up and ask for a warranty replacement. Let us know if you have any other questions and please don't forget to rate this posting.
Did you check if the PDA was hot? My battery was totally dead one day when I picked my 3715 up, just to found out it was blistering hot (was turned off) and even the backup battery was empty.
Running fine now after hardresetting it, but still...
