I have the same problem with a flickering screen. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

I have the same problem. I have returned it to Acer for repair. They reinstalled the OP system. However this did not help. I believe it is a mechanical issue in that you can bump the display on the back close to the hinges and the problem clears up for a short time.

I have had the same problem,
I found it was my power supply transformer (part of power lead).
Some transformers may be faulty, or replacement transformer may not provide a voltage stable enough for the LCD.
Also check the wiring in your plug.
Safest option is, buy a genuine Acer supply transformer with plug lead from Acer.

Hope this helps (please rate my advice)

Solution for mine was 1 tiny cable (black) that looped from connector connecting the screen to the main board to the same connector was broken. On soldering no more white flickering screen!

SOURCE: How to solve Flickering problem of LCD

I have an Acer 5920G that's only 3 months old and it's screen started flickering. Updating or rolling back the graphics card driver made no difference. I then updated the Chipset driver from the Acer website. It hasn't flickered since!
The graphics info has to pass through the chipset so I assume the driver wasn't up to the job.

Acer aspire 3610 screen flickering

It sounds like your video cable or your Lcd Inverter cables might be loose. You will need to take the lcd apart to get to them. The video cable is on the back of the LCD screen at the top. Remove it, then push it back in and use a piece of tape over where it connects to hold it in place. Also remove the other end of the video cable from it's connection and plug it back in. The lcd inverter is at the bottom under the lcd screen. It has two cables going into it. Remove both cables and then plug them back in. Put everything back together and hopefully your problem of flickering will be solved.

Acer 5920 -The power suddenly went off.

Probably this is due to surge current happend in the circute, butter not to switch on your lap. consult the service centre. Its is better not use the same adaptor for more troble shooting.

check to make sure that your display settings are at the average position, be sure to check the color setting and make sure it is not over 32bit, just to be safe put it to the lowest setting possible. does this solve the problem?

Screen flickers even on battery

Hello,

Have you updated your system BIOS with the latest download from Aspire?

This upgrade is particularly important if you have updated your Vista with service pack one or two (which may have been done automatically depending on your Windows update setting).

To upgrade your system BIOS download the latest version from the link below-
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5920.html

simply run the file that is provided in the zipped form in order to update your system bios which should resolve this issue unless it is hardware related which is usually not the case on this laptop.

Flickering LCD

yeah actually i can but if i didn't know any better i would swear you are dealing with HP. But I honestly think that the issue is your graphics card is not getting enough power. It can actually be a couple things bu i would start there. If that is not the problem start looking at the ram. If the ram starts to go bad or has a power issue it will mess up your display also. I am glad they replaced the processor. that would be the next place and from there it would almost have to be the power supply. One thing you have to make sure of however is that they can reproduce the problem when they have the laptop.

Hi.. I am suffering flickering problem with my Acer Aspire 5920.

This is often a problem with the backlight on the LCD panel. If you gently tap the side of the LCD does it flicker more? If it does, then there is a loose connection in the LCD panel, and you might be able to get a comptuer shop to fix it, but it usually is expensive. If you don't mind using the laptop as a desktop, then get an LCD monitor and a USB keyboard and mouse, and you can use it as a desktop.
