Question about Sony CDX-L420V CD Player
I bought a second hand car that has this radio CD player. It worked really well for a while but suddenly has developed loads of problems. When I turn it on it comes on at full volume (I nearly crashed the car the first time this happened as I got such a shock!). I turned the sound down, but if you try to increase the sound it just jumps right up to full volume again. The second problem is that it no longer has 18 FM station tuner presets, but only 6, and all of my stored stations have been erased. Finally, the Display is not working either, the backlight still works but the text doesn't scroll across anymore. When I turn off the radio it makes a loud popping sound also. Could this be that the fuse has blown?
This could be a bad ground on the radio, or you have serious circuit problems. if a fuse blew, the radio would not work at all. Check the installation first, replace the radio seconds. Good Luck
