Re: Durabrand DVD Model 1002 Want load disc
The laser or pickup has failed or is out of alignment. That symptom is caused by either a dead motor, or a bad laser. The only thing you can MAYBE check is that there is no dirt or grease on the lens. If it is clean it is time for a new unit.

Hello There are two possibilities for this fault. The first one is with the disc you insert in itself. If the disc is non-compactable to the player, no-disc display will appear after some time. Try with an other good known disc. No-disc display appear for every disc you insert in, the fault will be with its laser pickup assembley. If so it dhould be replaced. It is a skilled job. You must insist on same type and number of laser pickup unit. Chek whether the disc spins inside the player when it is inseted. If not, the sled motor is damaged. It should be replaced. To replace both laser pickup unit, and sled motor, you have to disassemble its mechanism.
You cannot use a DVD-RW disc on a Durabrand DVD player. It is not a compatible disc format. DVD-R discs that have been finalised (as well as shop-bought legal copies) are recommended for this player. As for video and audio bitrates, check out other forums on video to DVD converting and creation for more information. It is down to trial and error.
I have a durabrand portable dvd player we've owned for about 1yr and had just started messing up. When you put the dvd in it says it's loading and shows the blue dvd screen it just wont come on but you can hear it trying, please help what could be wrong?
Sorry, no suggestion other than don't buy Samsung. That's my conclusion after owning the same model. It worked fine for a while, but now won't load any DVD... usually. Sometimes it will play one, but more often it won't. Mine tries to load ("Loading") for a long time, I hear the DVD spinning, then ultimately the screen displays "This disc cannot be played" or something to that effect.
