I have s-video connecter to my hd tv,but get no picture nor any sign of a connection.Do I have to reset anything on my laptop ?

Hi,
You usually have to activate the S-video signal on the laptop. This is done with the graphics card software on your laptop. Ususally you get it by right-clicking on your desktop and it should be something along the line of "NVIDIA control panel" or something.
On some brands it might be under control panel.

Remeber S-Video doesnt carry sound so you need a sound cable as well.
The tv should be set to the right AV-in plug and try switching between didgital/analogue.

Problems with Lenovo 3000N200 0769-EAG tv-out

My friend, the easiest and by far the best way I have seen is to set the advance timings on your laptop just right and use a vga to scart cable.

Restart your Laptop to recognize again your TV on the system.

Connect Laptop HDMI to Receiver to TV via SVIDEO

you need a different type of cable to connect to your tv.a s-video will fit but not work.can't remember the name but it has to have more pins.besides that port is for projectors and cannot be used for anything else.you need a converter box like the one in the link ::::: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=laptops+s-video+cords&FORM=BIFD#focal=a85da1a40c404788d7e32f0bf01eab05&furl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cvs.k12.mi.us%2Ftiz%2Fimages%2Fsvid-cables.jpg

unless you got a big tv with a very good picture it isn't worth it.and a good graphics card in the comp.most tvs are fuzzy and unreadable.i've did it enough to know

S-video problem for inspiron 6000

Hi,
You will have to look at your TV to see what type of interface it has for PC connectivity, this is because there are 2 types of Video out on the laptop, first the s-video and secondly VGA (D-SUB).

I would recommend the VGA connection as the quality of the picture will be much better than s-video, so you will need a male to male VGA cable if your TV takes that interface (a male to male mini stereo cable is also required for audio)

If your TV only supports s-video then you are stuck with that interface until you upgrade your TV.

If you need anymore help in this matter please don't hesitate to post back.

What type to cable should I buy to connect laptop to tv

Youre laptop would have to have a video card that has a TV-out port... And for that you would have to run a S-Video cable from the TV-out port of your laptop to the S-Video port on your TV... I assume your TV has a S-Video port?

VGA and Audio cables connected to PC but no audio through TV

if your tv has vga input there should be a "line in" input very near it. VGA can only get its audio source through a "line in" connecting to the coaxial audio inputs will apply the music stream to a different video input on your tv. your tv has video 1, video 2, vga, and so on, but the vga cannot show video and then audio from the video/audio coaxial inputs. you will need something like a dual male tipped 3.5mm audio connector.

Hi,
You need s-video cable or VGA cable (if VGA ports are available on your laptop and TV) to connect your laptop to the tv.Connect the one end of your cable to your laptop port and another end to the tv port.and then set your tv to s-video mode.

Thanks
