It's very simple. Next to the "tone arm" (the thing you pull across towards your vinyl, and place down to produce sound) is a silver piece which you slide up and down to change the pitch (the speed) of the vinyl. This can be increased even further by changing the 35rpm setting (button near the start/stop button) to 45rpm.

Hope that helps

Try some anti-static record cleaner. You can also get an anti-static matt to put the records on.

Hi, I have a jammed height adjuster on a Technics SL1200MK2. Does anyone know a way of fixing this?

Quite often grit and dust gets into the thread and jams it up.
If the deck was in my workshop I'd remove the actual tonearm and phono cord etc and after applying a little penitrating fluid I'd "encourage" the arm base to unscrew - not subtle but somtimes a little force is needed.

EVERYTIME I PLAY A RECORD IT DRAGS TO PICK UP SPEED

Are you sure you have a Technics SL1200MK2 Direct Drive Turntable? If so, then there is a major problem with the drive system. This can only be diagnosed and repaired by a qualified technician.

If your turntable is not the Techics SL1200MK2, and you have no idea what turntable you have, look at the model's label, if it says BELT DRIVE - this is the reason why it drags to pick up speed. If it says DIRECT DRIVE, then take it to a service center for repair.

TECHNICS SL-B280 DUST COVER W/ HINGES

All parts are discontinued for this model. The SL1200MK2 dust cover will not fit this turntable. You can actually have a dust cover made rather simply and cheaply (depending on where you live). Just take the dimensions to a PLEXIGLASS or even a GLASS shop. You can even purchase the Plexiglass yourself, cut it, and glue it together. I would suggest getting it professionally done. You can use any high impact plexiglass. Get something that is resistant to scratches and discoloring.

How do i replace the phono leads on my technics 1210?

OK,

you have to turn it over, remove the rubber housing, remove the round metal guard from below...

ONLY DO THIS IF YOURE CONFIDENT IN SOLDERING SKILLS!!

You have to unsolder 4 leads ( stereo ) and solder on a new pair.

If you actually proceed, i can give you a better step by step.

But this process requires soldering..so.

Keep me posted.
