Canon MFC-9150c Printing repeat down right side of paper only. Everything in center and on left prints fine. Tried a new toner, and visually inspected inside of machine. The repeat is very faint, but is...

You will need to replace the fuser. What has happended is the hot roller has lost its teflon coating and this is allowing the toner to stick to it, therefore the stuck toner is repeating do the edge of the paper until it disappears. A new fuser will cure it. It is user fittable to. You must have the power off when you change it. There is no reset for it just change it and power up and all will be fine.

Printed copies have ghost images on them. I have never had this problem before., It looks like the image printed twice - once fine and then faint horizontal lines, sometimes some of the previously printed...

1) try doing a full clean from within the menu on the printer, or within the computer software
2) You need to perform a half test. Put a sheet of paper on the manual feeder and do a config page from the information menu on the printer. When the back edge of the paper enters the printer, quickly open the toner door to stop the printing. Now remove the toner cartridge and look at the image below. If the defect is present, then the toner cartridge is the problem 99% of the time. There is a slight possibility that during the conditioning stage of the print process the drum of the toner is not being fully discharged so when the next stage takes places part of the previous image gets put on the toner cartridge again. Very rare. If the defect is not present then the fuser has an issue.

In spite of changing the black toner cartridge and toner waste receptacle, the printing remains faint

If your printer prints with faint vertical stripes like this
slamfix_22.jpg The problem is with the developer in the imaging unit. The problem can be fixed by either replacing the imaging unit for $100+ or you can fix it yourself by cleaning the imaging unit. You will need simple hand tools and if you are careful restore the print quality of your printer. I have a link to instructions that should help you http://www.fixya.com/support/r4120906-clean_developer_blades_samsung_clp_300 Hope this helps you.

Our Laser printer doesn't print on the left had side of the paper--well, very faint--the right side is just fine. I just replaced the cartridge. What is the problem?

If your printer prints like this:
657b300.jpg with the any color printing faintly down the page, then the problem is with the developer blades in the imaging unit. What happens is there are metal blades that meter the amount of toner that gets put on to the drum that makes the image on the paper. The toner is made up of fine particules of plastic. As the printer prints, some of this toner collects on the edge of the developer blades causing less and less toner to make it onto the page making the print look faint.

To correct this problem, you either need to buy a new imaging unit or clean the developer blades. There is a document on the internet that gives a detail instructions on how to do this, but, the link no longer works. I have a copy of this document, I will try to post it if people are interested.

Fuser

The fusing unit uses heat and pressure to bond the toner to the paper. Normally poor fusing is evidenced by repeating images or by the print smearing when you rub your fingers across the paper. One fuser roller (the heat roller) is probably aluminum with a teflon coating and the other one (the presure roller) is a type of rubbery material and is often orange.

By your description you mentioned cartridges and that the printer is a full color printer. Is this a laser printer having toner cartridges and imaging units? I just want to make sure you do not have an inkjet printer as they do not use fusers.

The washed out prints you speak of sounds more like a transfer issue such as the transfer belt, transfer charge roller, etc...

Please tell me the brand and model of your printer and I will be more specific.

My black is really faded, when I print a test page by pushing photo and copy, however when I do a print head allignment the black for the allignment paper is sharp and deap, whats going on? Ive tried to...

The PHOTO mode is for printing grayscale photographs. Printed letters using PHOTO mode may appear faint because PHOTO mode is optimized for halftones. See if there is a TEXT or LETTER print mode, and try printing on that setting. If printed letters are still faint, you may have to go into ADVANCED PRINTER PREFERENCES, and see if the TONER SAVE mode is on. If it is, turn TONER SAVE off. Also, try changing the DPI image density, or try other adjustments in the ADVANCED PRINTER PREFERENCES MODE.

Replace toner cartridge drum/blade RS, slim faint outside chance it is a fuser (hot bit rear) problem, doubt feed issue

To confiirm to yourself it isn't a feed issue, try feeding A4 via manual bypass (envelope slot) and doing a print using manual bypass tray, just override size missmatch warning if it appears (tick i think when beeping). should do same fault as feeding via cassete

You can also print a test page from printer via operations panel to confirm it is printer problem not software.and you can do a paper path test from whatever feed slot

To eliminate it being fuser problem try printing and turning the power off when paper is 1/2 way threw print job, remove cartridge and exaimine unfused (still image rubs off) print, if image is fine then it is a fuser issue but be carefull to note how much of a page needs to be printed before image repeats so you know if it is right or wrong.

But thats just tecnical possibitys, Change cartridge should fix!

Odds are 95% cart 4% fuser 1% others i reckon!

Faint mirror image when printing

It's most likely one of 2 problems...the toner cartridge or the fuser. The toner cartridge transfer roller may still be charged and keeping a little bit of the previous page's information on it, to be transferred on the next sheet. I would try a different toner cartridge first to see if that solves it.
