It sounds like the display adaptor is having problems. I can't believe they did not fix this for you. It is definitely their responsibility to fix this for you. There is nothing you will be able to do if they replaced those parts and they should have known this

Yeah actually i can but if i didn't know any better i would swear you are dealing with HP. But I honestly think that the issue is your graphics card is not getting enough power. It can actually be a couple things bu i would start there. If that is not the problem start looking at the ram. If the ram starts to go bad or has a power issue it will mess up your display also. I am glad they replaced the processor. that would be the next place and from there it would almost have to be the power supply. One thing you have to make sure of however is that they can reproduce the problem when they have the laptop.

It sounds like your video cable or your Lcd Inverter cables might be loose. You will need to take the lcd apart to get to them. The video cable is on the back of the LCD screen at the top. Remove it, then push it back in and use a piece of tape over where it connects to hold it in place. Also remove the other end of the video cable from it's connection and plug it back in. The lcd inverter is at the bottom under the lcd screen. It has two cables going into it. Remove both cables and then plug them back in. Put everything back together and hopefully your problem of flickering will be solved.

I just bought a brand new Acer Aspire 5534 laptop and the screen has been flickering on and off since I bought it. Its very annoying and I cannot get any work done. The place that I bought it from doesn't...

flickering is usually a lcd, converter or inverter hardware issue.try updating the video driver for that system if it still persist then it is a hardware issue..If you bought the system new their usually a hardware warranty that will cover it by contacting the manufacture.if not then I advise you taking it to the computer repair person to replace the hardware. hope that helps.

check to make sure that your display settings are at the average position, be sure to check the color setting and make sure it is not over 32bit, just to be safe put it to the lowest setting possible. does this solve the problem?

How to solve Flickering problem of LCD

I have had the same problem,
I found it was my power supply transformer (part of power lead).
Some transformers may be faulty, or replacement transformer may not provide a voltage stable enough for the LCD.
Also check the wiring in your plug.
Safest option is, buy a genuine Acer supply transformer with plug lead from Acer.

Hope this helps (please rate my advice)

How to solve Flickering problem of LCD

I have an Acer 5920G that's only 3 months old and it's screen started flickering. Updating or rolling back the graphics card driver made no difference. I then updated the Chipset driver from the Acer website. It hasn't flickered since!
The graphics info has to pass through the chipset so I assume the driver wasn't up to the job.
