Question about Avaya Merlin Magix 4424D+ Telephone
I work the helpdesk in our IT department. We have a Avaya system that we just upgraded to the newest software. When they got done it reprogramed my phone and a few others here. We all have the same problem....I have a Plantronics wirless headset with handlifter. It will not reconize a outside incoming callbecause the rintone is different. I need to change the ringtone. I know there are 8 different ringtones but I cant seem to get into programing of the phone. I have tryed the user manual and tryed every key on the phone. I also unhook the headset. nothing seams to work. Please Help
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Have your system admin movethe extensions ports. You have a definity or S87xx series.....that is the only way.

SOURCE: change ringtone
With the handset on the hook press the conf button (the one with three phones on it).
The phone should ring with your current ringtone. Each press of the conf button will advance to the next tone.
pick up the handset and put it down again to select the ringtone.
I think there are 8 to choose from.

SOURCE: Avaya Lucent Phone Questions
Those are pretty easy requests. At extension 10 or 11 go to the phone and press FEATURE 00 LIC LIC (where lic is the left intercom button) #103 and dial your time in 4 digit military time. If you need the date its #101. Press Feature 00 to exit.
Manuals are always available for download at www.avaya.com and you have to search for them. I also have one on my public website at http://public.carl.airpost.net/Avaya/Partner_ACS.pdf
This is for an ACS 4.0 IIRC. It works for most applications.

When you reprogrammed, did you do #505, group 7 to tell the phone system what ports the voicemail was? The voicemail is picking up because the ports are set to ring (which gets turned off, when you tell the system those are voicemail extensions by using #505)
If there were phones that were paged before, my guess is that they were in a calling group, then there were buttons set to page the calling group. (Intercom *72, 73, 74, etc) Intercom *70, pages overhead as well as the phones in group 1 (71)
