Try www.theupgradeplace.com.
I use them as a vendor, but I'm not sure if they sell directly to the public--but I think they do.
The nice thing about a place like this is they know what your machine will take and they guarantee their products.

Locally, you could try a good electronics store.

Vista needs 40mb to install ...no matter how much mem you install vista is slow compared to xp or xp pro which configuered right can run at lightening speeds.
to upgrade mem ...
you either have 2 512mem cards or 1 1024 card ...if you have 1 1024 card add another if you have 2 512 replace with 2 1024.
you can buy mem cards in any pc shop.

When i install windows 7 on my dell n5010 i5 laptop...decrese the battery backup upto less then one hour

Hi,
Windows 7 requires more resources than XP and Vista, Visual it will make the Video card run/render a much higher video on the screen from what XP has and it will eat up RAM 1GB right away so if you have 1GB only then the RAM will run continuously, upgrading the RAM will be best to 2gb's or maybe 4gb.
The Batter Life you may check the power options in Windows 7 and set it to Balanced and change the advance power options setting to minimal power consumption to prevent the system from consuming the battery right away.

Lenovo 3000 y410 graphic card upgrade?

Lenovo Y410 System RAM can handle up to 2GB of memory. Since the machine has 2 slots for RAM and you already have 1GB preinstalled with the computer all you need to purchase is another stick of 1GB RAM.

There is no chance of upgrading Graphics card since it doesnt have a video card slot and the preinstalled VCARD is onboard.

Should you have any other questions just please leave a comment.

Cheers~

Do this model supporsts win xp service pack 2

Hi.

This unit has a Pentium 4 2GHz single core processor, and does support Windows XP SP2.

The standard memory installed on this unit was 256KB RAM, in order to run XP efficently you will need to upgrade the RAM. I suggest upgrading RAM to the maximum amount allowed of 2 GB RAM.

To upgrade the RAM to 2 GB you will need 2 modules of 1GB PC2100 184 pin DIMM ECC each.

I have a ACEer 5315 model no ICL50 running Windows Vista. To say Vista is **** is an understatement. I want to switch to Windows 7 but guess I will need a lot more RAM for this. Can I upgrade Ram on this...

Hi,
I recommend that you switch to Windows 7 without upgrading your RAM. Windows 7 is a lot faster, better and uses less RAM than Vista. Recommended RAM for running Windows 7 is 1GB but I have installed them on a Centrino 1.5GHz with 768Mb of RAM and they run perfectly.
So make the upgrade to Windows 7 anyway and if you feel that you need more power then you can get more RAM.
Also, download Windows 7 upgrade advisor to check if your pc is compatible. Download upgrade advisor here.

the PC is most likely bloated with lots of useless software, viruses, malware etc, but upgrading ram will give the biggest increase in performance, I would reccoment atleast 1 GB for windows XP systems and 2 GB for windows vista systems.

Internal Hard Disk Upgrade

Yes, there is. Match the type of drive (Serial ATA or Parallel ATA) you get with what you have. Make sure your Satellite sees the drive in the BIOS. For drives larger than 120 GB, recommend operating systems Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or higher) or Vista. Older OS's have a 137 GB limitation (they only see the first 137 GB of the hard drive despite its size).

Can i upgrade my MT3705 to 4GB RAM?

If you get rid of Vista and put in 2gb of Ram your Laptop will not need 4 gb of ram.  You need to get it will not support double sided or ECC this is why you can not have 4gb you need 2GB kit (1GBx2), 200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module

Laptop RAM.

ya its definatly true that alaptop with 2 gb ram is better then a laptop with 1 gb ram
but it depends on situation and usage
if you r a graphic designer or a web designer or you r a gaming person with high loading on cpu in that case 2 gb ram will help more then 1 gb ram
but if you r a home user and using only office application and dail routine work on laptop then you might not need to spend more money on rame 1 gb is good inough for you
