Question about Kenmore 64823 Top Freezer Refrigerator
I have a Kenmore top freezer about 8 years old. the compressor was make loud noises when it stopped and I figured the unit would soon quit all together. The compressor stopped making noises and does not seem to come on anymore, but the fan runs constantly and ther is a gentle hum. The freezer still works while the fridge does not cool. Do I need to replace the compressor or is ther another fix?
Turned refrigerator off for 8 hours, let the frost melt and the fan in the freezer worked again. The compressor now only has a soft clunk when it goes off.
