This allows me to change the settings, but I want to know how to make "fast draft" and "gray scale" the PERMANENT DEFAULT settings. Whenever I try to alter the Default Print Setting, the changes cannot be saved. Solution?

Yes, I tried "apply", but I cannot save the updated Default setting. Must I change the print quality and color selection for EACH PRINT JOB?

I would say yes, after all, HP needs to sell ink to stay in business.

How to reset samsung ML1210?

  1. Turn the printer off by pushing the power button in until the LED light turns off. Make sure the printer is off before proceeding.
  2. Remove the power cord from the back of the printer. Leave the printer unplugged for at least five to 10 minutes.
  3. Plug the printer back in. Press and hold the stop button for two to three seconds until the demo page begins to print.
Hope it works...

Is there a way to turn off scanning in color?

When the printer is setup on each PC, the default option should be set to black and white (click on the quality tab). When wanting to print in color, click print in the program you are in, then click on printer properties, click on quality tab, then set to color. It will only print the current print job in color.

Hi I have HP PSC1610 printer-copier-scanner. 90% of all my printing I do in "FastDraft" Paper Quality. The default is in "Normal" Paper Quality and I have to change the settings each time I print. I would...

When you print from the Microsoft Word and while printing you change the Printer Properties and Print Quality to FastDraft
Everytime you close the window the setting gets reset and again when you start, you have to do the settings.

The Solution you are looking out is
Go to Start >> Control Panel >> Printer and Faxes
There you choose the your Default Printer HP 1610 >> Right Click
and Click Properties
Then you choose Printing Preferences and Make Choose FastDraft

This setting will remain as your default setting now
So whne you have to Print Normal Mode
You need to change the Properties from Microsoft Word.
and it will reset everytime you close MS Word.
Cause your Default setting then is "FastDraft"

I hope this solves your problem
all the best

HP psc 2210 all-in-one -- will not print on-line documents -- message: printer not activated, error code 30

Check if you printer you are wanting to print from is the default printer to your system.
You can make the printer your default printer by clicking 'Start', and then click 'Printers and Faxes' to open the 'Printers' folder, if the desired printer does not have a check mark next to it, right-click the printer icon and then click 'Set as Default Printer'. You can right-click on the printer icon, and then click on the 'Print Test Page' to print a Windows self-test page.
