Assuming you have wireless
on the xbox goto network settings and there will be a part to connect using the wireless, you select it, then let it find close wireless points then join it to the wireless router putting in a password if you have on the wireless

How to hook up laptop and xbox so u can use wireless conection for xbox live

When I tried to hook up my XBox to my desktop, I brought the "Linksys" G series wireless router. I like to shop at Best Buy, I find their sales reps knowalgeable. I not sure if the letter of the series really matters, but the security settings do. The newest securtiy settings are WEP, the older are 128 bit encryption. Find out what security setting that your XBox uses, (Read your users manual on how to do this or go to XBox.com and click on support) When you set up the wireless router connection, make sure the default value matches the XBox. After you're done, the 128 Bit encryption will give you a 24 character long code (I'm not sure about WEP) that you will have to put in manually with the controller on your XBox.

If you have access to the internet you can go to XBox. com, support, troubleshooting, How to connect to XBox Live. I hope this helps.

Xbox settings have a setting for automatic. This is the best setting because you don't have to enter anything. It is all automatic.
On the router, make sure Nat type says open.

I can not seem to get onto the internet with my Wireless connector for the xbox live it is trying to get a signal but is not connecting can you help. The connecter is flashing at Green but just does not...

make sure that you run the dvd it came with, that is the most important, then go into your setting on the xbox and pick your router out of the list, the green light should stop flashing when it picks up your router, especially if you have a password on your router, you will need to enter that in the settings screen

Trying to connect to x box live. just bought the

Okay, to connect to Xbox Live using Wireless Internet you will need this:

One Xbox Wireless connection unit, There are two types, the black and white versions. The black one is able to pick up the most diverse signals and has a higher potential for speed so I recommend that one.
You will also need, of course, a high speed internet source (modem) and a wireless router connected to the modem. When looking for wireless routers look for ones with marks claiming to be compatible with Xbox Live or a Windows OS. Those have been tested to work with Xbox.

Before trying to set up your Xbox Live, make sure your Router is set up with your computer, and set to be used as a wireless router. That's another tip all together but just follow your installation CD.

Okay so here we go!

First, Connect the wireless networking adapter to the back of your Xbox.
If you have a network cable plugged into your xbox, unplug it. Check to make sure the adapter's light is on.

Here's what the light's mean:
On the gray adapter:
No light: It's not getting enough power( try plugging it another USB slot)
Green light: It is connected to a wireless router, gateway or wireless access point.
Red light: It is not connected, and is ready for configuration.
Flashing red: There is a malfunction. (try again, if the problem persists return it for a replacement)

On the black adapter:
No light: It's not getting enough power( try plugging it another USB slot)
Green light: It is connected to a wireless router2_bing.gif, gateway or wireless access point.
Flashing green: The adapter is attempting to connect to a wireless router, gateway, or access point.
Red light: It is not connected, and is ready for configuration.
Flashing red: There is a malfunction. (try again, if the problem persists return it for a replacement)

Now the CONFIGURATION, the reason most of you are reading this:

Turn your Xbox on and go to "My Xbox"
Go to "System Settings"
Go to "Network Settings"
Go to "Configure Network"
On the basic settings tab select "Wireless mode"
Select "Scan for Networks"
Select your Wireless source.

NOTE: If your Network isn't listed you will have to manually enter it.
To do this select "Specify unlisted network"
You will need to enter your SSID
Then choose which security you used to set it up on your Computer (ie: WPA, WEP...) Then enter your security code. If there is no code then select "no security"

Your adapter should have a green light now.

Now go back to "Network Settings" and select "Test Xbox Live2_bing.gif Connection"

If it works your good to go!

Hope this tip helps :) Tell your friends and ratings are nice. Just kidding, I just hope I helped.

I just bought an xbox i got wireless adaptor, how come i cant sign up for online it says ''cant cannect xbox live select test connection to trouble shoot your connection''

(These instructions are vague because they are from memory, so sorry if they are not very clear)
Go to Console Settings, then go to Network Settings, then click A on the first thing that comes up, continue clicking A until it returns you to network settings. Then try to connect to Xbox Live again, if you still can't connect, then the xbox 360 console is not close enough to your internet source, or you don't have a wireless internet connection.

Hope this helps!
