Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
first way to fix this error is actually really quite simple, it may just be
your AV cable. The first thing that you can try is to unplug the AV cable and
blow out any dust that may be built up in the connections. Then try hooking it
back up and turning it on.
If you are still facing the error than try getting a new AV cable, or you can borrow one from a friend so that you don't buy a new cable if this is not the solution either. Once you have the new AV cable, plug it in, fire up your Xbox 360 and if the error is still occurring then you will have to move on to the next method of fixing the E74 Error.
If the AV cable didn't work then you are going to have to move on to a little bit of a more complex method to fix the error. It can still be fixed but the methods can't be explained in a single article.

The cause of Xbox e74 problems is actually overheating, believe it or not. What is harder to understand is why does this problem occur in the first place with such a modern, well-built piece of gaming equipment? This is simple, that heat is easily able to build up rather rapidly inside the case, due in part to a lack of sufficient cooling devices such as fans and heat sinks. This heat then disrupts your components such as the graphics processor, hard drive or DVD drive, and causes them to malfunction eventually. Your console is then forced to display the e74 code as a warning that something quite major has gone wrong with your console.
the best way to fix this type of error is to strip the 360 right down to the motherboard and go over it with a heatgun, keeping the heatgun at least 2/3 inches away. replace the heatsink paste with arctic silver, replace the heatsinks and invest in a team xecuter 3rrod repair kit and place these on your memory chips. this will fix your problem m8.
