Re: screen insensitive and vibrate mode not working

Hi, I had this problem, and fixed it. That's the good news. The bad news is that it involved taking the unit to pieces, and thoroughly cleaning the edges of the screen, and the inside of the case where it sits. Something had got trapped, which was throwing the tap out at the right hand side.

Turn off screen tap vibration

Now, on your iPhone you want to tap on the "Settings" icon. Hopefully you've been here before! What you need to tap on here that's a bit counterintuitive is "Sounds" even though we're talking about a vibration, not an audible feature. As you can see, there are "Vibrate" settings for both Silent and Ring mode, along with the many different ringtones that are included with the iPhone itself.
There's no "Save" needed: tap on the ON|OFF switch to set it as you'd desire, then simply leave the screen and go somewhere else. hope that help...

Calibration of LG KU990R

Actually I was trying in a wrong way. To scroll through a list of option, touch the last item visible and slide your finger up the screen. The list will move up so more items are visible.

Get to Start menu

I have same problem but found a work-around. I have found that 2 SD cards kept in the pockets in the flip over cover of my leather case has caused scuffing to the touch screen and the screen will now not align properly. In the alignmet utility I have to tap the centre of the alignment cross in the middle and 2 top positions and tap about 3mm above the cross in the bottom 2 positions (portrait format). This means of course that the bottom of the screen is out of alignment and I have to tap high at the bottom of the screen but I have got used to it. Not great, I know, but its better than nothing.

Screen corner insensitivity

Screen drift is a common problem on Palms and there are many forums about it. First, make sure it is not your screen protector. This is a common culprit. Also, make sure ther is no dirt between the screen edges and the case. Running a folded piece of paper in between can clean it. I worked on a friends Palm with this problem and the solution was third party software called PowerDigi. Here is the link:
Unfortunately, this software is not free.

While I am not familiar with your particular problem, I have a solution you should definitely try. It involves deletion of all data, but from the sounds of it you've probably deleted all your data a hundred times already.

Here is the step-by-step breakdown:

1. Download GER and ENG ROMs (latest) from HP's support site
2. Unpack both
3. Cancel the automatic flash procedure.
4. Locate the EnterBootLoader.exe file in the folder of the unpacked GER update
5. Copy it to PPC
6. Run it from the PPC
7. Run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file from the desktop to start flash procedure.
Then you have a German-language PPC
8. Locate the EnterBootLoader.exe file in the folder of the unpacked ENG update
9. Repeat steps 5-7 for the English update
You're done

I truly hope this works. Essentially, it is a true complete reset. The "complete" reset by pressing three buttons isn't really complete.

And please, don't type in all caps. No need to shout an entire problem :-D

Screen insensitive to stylus

Have you run the digitizer app, which is located in Preferences, and recalibrates the digitizer? If it is not the digitizer problem , it may be the stylus you are using.. read this: By the way, about Palm's "repair service", take a look below: "... I can sympathize with you. Six months after I bought a Palm Zire 71 I had exactly the same problem, it would not respond to the stylus. I sent it in for repair (fortunately I got someone in India who spoke fairly good English). They set it back after a week or so and a month later I had exactly the same problem again. (They did return my original unit.) Again I had to send it in and they sent me a replacement that works so far. I had a previous experience with Palm's "repair service" where they again did a repair that only lasted a few weeks. ..."
